Sunday news

Straight forward recaps from the Globe and Herald today. The only thing of note was that Porter said the ball was sailing on him on the deep throws. Normally I would balk at this excuse, but Beck was having trouble with deep passes too.

Slipped into this notebook is a note about our schedule next season. Cupcake city. Out of conference we play BYU, Maine, Buffalo and Kent State. I understand the need to pad a little now that our conference slate is tougher, but this will not excite the fans or media.

Look for second viewing game report and performance grades tomorrow.

Porter was tentative even in the short passing game -- rainbowed a lot of quick hits and was saved on at least 4 occasions by Blackmon's elusiveness. He needs to put the ball out there more quickly on the quick hits/3-4 yard outs and stop hanging guys up to dry. I don't think the atmosphere is what caused those fruity passes.

Still he played a good game. My second viewing made it clear that Callendar is much faster, quicker, and more intuitive than LV. LV needs to sit down.

The long snapping needs work.

The Out of Conference schedule is deplorable.

Alchemist...OUT.
