Fashion Police

Florida State recently announced they will wear a special all-black uniform for their game against BC. You can debate the merits of the Johnny Cash look, but I think the real story is their questionable opponent for such a change. It just doesn't make sense to me. You are wearing a new color scheme in a conference game that was very hard fought last year. Despite playing at a high level, there is an instictive adjustment that players have to make ("the guys in black are my teammmates"). And you take on this confusion/adjustment against the team in football with a uniform most similar to your own?
Which one is BC and which is Florida State?

This shouldn't decide the game, but one pass to the wrong guy or one hesitant tackle could make a difference. Shouldn't they have tried this stunt against Clemson or NC State or anyone but the team with a maroon and gold color scheme. BC should add arrows to our helmets for this one game just to complete the effect.

BTW, BC is 1-1 in special uniform games.

We beat Notre Dame in the Green Jersey game.

And we lost to Virginia Tech in their flojo shoulder Jersey game.

Maybe the idea is actually to REDUCE confusion. White tops/gold pants vs. Garnet tops/White pants (for instance) is probably easier to confuse in the heat of game time than all-black vs. whatever else.

I would not worry about hesitant tackles, etc. anyhow. Since these guys are used to playing their own scout teams, they are definitely used to playing against guys wearing some color scheme of their own.

Hard to believe that jersey color is going to make a difference in this game.

I don't think the jersey is going to make a difference. Sometimes you just got to fill the blog.

The highlighted areas in the description of image give a summarized look to its viewers.
