EVENTS AND PLACES OF NOTE IN JACKSONVILLE
This is only a bit of what they sent me. For more information go to visitjacksonville.com.
Be a part of the excitement at the Jacksonville Landing, located along the Northbank of the St. Johns River in downtown. Experience the live entertainment on the famed courtyard all weekend long. The action starts on Friday, Nov. 30 at 5:00 p.m with the Rhythm Cure Band. Saturday, the party starts early and continues throughout the evening. The Jacksonville Landing is home to restaurants and nightlife along with the Twisted Martini, an upscale entertainment and dining venue with South Beach sophistication. Call (904) 358-1188 or visit www.jacksonvillelanding.com.
Enjoy Downtown’s premiere riverfront restaurant, the River City Brewing Company, located along the Southbank of the St. Johns River . Try a taste of local flavor with Mayport Shrimp, brought in fresh daily from the Northeast Florida waterways. The Brewhouse Lounge offers live entertainment weekly along the river deck, providing a breathtaking view of the Jacksonville skyline. Also check out the on-site brewery and see the beer brewing process, as the restaurant creates its own flair with flavors such as the Jag Lite, Jackson Pale Ale, Red Rooster Ale and Riptide Porter. Call (904) 398-2299 or visit www.rivercitybrew.com.
Shoppers will delight with the opening of 40 new stores exclusive to Northeast Florida market at the St. Johns Town Center . Home furnishings, jewelry, footwear, specialty stores and of course, fashion, are among the highlights opening just in time for holiday bargains. New stores include: Abercrombie, Aldo, Arden B., Baker’s, Bebe Sport, Betsey Johnson, BCBG, Brooks Brothers, Coach, Guess, MAC Cosmetics, Marciano, Pottery Barn, Sole Mio, The Walking Company, Tommy Bahama, Urban Outfitters and West Elm. Go BC
I'll see you fans there!!!!
Gotta love that River City Brewing Company has a beer called "Jag Lite."
I will definitely have to try a Jag Lite or 12 while I'm down there.
I know I should be in Jacksonville, but alas I cannot make it. Bill, do you have any information about Gamewatches? That has been a helpful feature the last few weeks.

Does anyone have the lyrics to "Sweep Down the Field for Boston"?
The ACC website is a bit confusing...
It says the West Side of the stadium seats the "Atlantic Division Champion (home team)."
VT is the home team, but we're from the Atlantic division... so which is it? Are BC's seats generally on the east or west side of the stadium?
If anyone got their tickets through BC, it would be helpful to know what section they put you in.
BC is the home team and VT is the visitor. Got my tix through BC and they are in Section 105. See you there.
Also- are the good seats, aka, "Touchdown Club," sold through the schools? I'd like to get a good seat, but don't want to end up in a sea of VaTech.
Something tells me these Touchdown Club seats go to sponsers and corporations...
Yes, the good seats are sold through BC for $125 each:

Ahh- ACC Championship Club seats are different from "Champions Club" seats (which are boxes or something).
I used to live in Jacksonville, and I do not recommend going to the Jacksonville Landing. Instead, I would head to Jax Beach and hit two great Irish pubs: Mac Cools and Lynch's. They are right next to the Ocean and near a couple good restaurants (Dolphin Depot just to name one). If you want to stay closer to downtown, the San Marco area is great for food (BB's is a personal favorite and Pom's has great Thai food) and some lounge type bars. You could also hit the historic Riverside and Avondale areas, which are also near downtown. The best restaurants in those areas are Mossfire and Biscotti's. There aren't a ton of bars in Riverside/Avondale, but there are a couple.
For lunch in downtown, try Burrito Gallery.
Good luck to the Eagles.
