South Bend blogger takes shot at BC and other links

In Ivan Maisel's new book, he calls BC underrated. This South Bend blogger disagrees. I am surprised Kelly even took the time to write about BC since most ND fans don't care about us and surely don't consider us a rival. (Thanks to Brian for the link.)

Here is a look at Georgia Tech. Same narrative as before: "It will take time for Tech to adjust to Johnson's scheme."

A Texas QB BC targeted is headed to Nebraska.

Here is ESPN's preview of the football team.

The Red Zone Report also produced a BC preview. (Thanks to Nick for the link.)

The Hancock hat mystery is solved and it is not our Eagle:

Mr. Smith’s hat is a dingy gray with maroon stripes, bearing an embroidered eagle in attack mode. Some have questioned whether the aggressive bird was a nod to those logos of American Eagle Outfitters, American Living at J. C. Penney, Boston College or Anheuser-Busch, but it was actually the creation of Louise Mingenbach, a veteran costume designer.

Haven't read the book yet, but Kelly mentions that BC is the #1 most underrated program.

Finally .... #1 in something!

look at that...nice little shout out in the times...too bad the story probably has no factual basis

Is anyone an espn insider? Could you post the preview in the comments section?

The ND guy has a point. Don't know if I'll ever get over Frank Leahy's betrayal of 67 FRIGGIN YEARS AGO !

I mean, I am sure my parents, then pre-teen children of Irish immigrants living in NYC must have been furious with him. So, by genetics, now my cross to bear.

I realize it was his alma mater, but why would Leahy choose rural Indiana over Irish dominated Boston in 1940's ? He was running from something. Died in Portland - blech. Good riddance, psycho.

I don't see TOB enjoying the same legacy as Leahy. TOB is already semi-retired and will be out or on the way out before the end of next season.

Coach O'Brien's first 5 years were

1997 4-7-0
1998 4-7-0
1999 8-4-0
2000 7-5-0
2001 8-4-0

Total 31-27-0

His 2nd 5 years were

2002 9-4-0
2003 8-5-0
2004 9-3-0
2005 9-3-0
2006 9-3-0
(Spaziani coached the bowl game)

Total 44-18-0

I think we have to look at the "body of work" turned in by these coaches. Perhaps 5 year windows are fair.

Jack: Don't post complete articles from ESPN or anyone else. I can quote, but I have to honor copyrights.
