BC-ND set for prime time

The game will be on ESPN or ABC at 8 pm. Do you think the fans will be fired up a bit?

We haven't played the Irish in prime time since 2001.

I'm a bit worried about this becoming a sh*t show. I remember 2001 when I was a student and it was a great time. I hope BC fans can remain classy to our visitors despite the day's worth of drinking. I also hope we punch ND in the mouth.

It's official. I'm flying up from Florida.

I also hope we don't overlook the clemson game in anticipation of the rivalry game.

Excellent. Couldn't ask for a better platform for the game, or start time for those attending in person.

I don't know about this.....

I'm sensing the early warnings of a perfect storm:
A resurgent, improving ND squad, with a quarterback on the rise, hellbent on reversing a losing streak to its Catholic rival...
A faltering BC group, with a weaker-than-it-appears record and no one at the helm under center...
Prime time national audience...

Disaster may loom.
If this goes the wrong way, it could really set us back re: recruiting.

Still, I'm glad I'll be there instead of having to listen to the incessant network "waking up the echoes" Notre Dame blather.

I'll be there in EE on the 50 yard line - and I'll have all the rain gear and long underwear I can find. I've gotten used to a more amenable climate in the fall :-)

I'll also be at the Clemson game - SO LET'S GET FOCUSED ON THAT - or it will be a disaster. This Saturday is a MUST WIN game against a wounded - and therefore very dangerous opponent. Yes, they were overrated in the pre-season, but Clemson is gunning for us and they have the horses to push us around in our own stadium if we are not 100% ready - and obviously we must execute.

albanyeagle - everything you said about ND (except the Catholic Rivalry) applies to the Clemson Game. (Were you and your family in Chapel Hill?)

Go Eagles.

We can't get this game and series over with fast enough. The sooner BC fans forget ND and put the passion they have for that game into the conference games that actually count for something (say, the ACC Championship Game, for example), the better.

Big Jack - as a quick aside, it's always a pleasure to read your posts. You're a wise and faithful fan.

As for ND, the point is well taken. At this point ND is becoming more of a distraction from a legitimate attainable goal - - an ACC Championship. (Although it's fun to beat them and it can only help recruiting nationally.)

Clemson is all we need to think about right now. I'm just still reeling from the utter disaster that was this past weekend. (No, Jack, i was not at UNC, but I will be at Clemson, ND, and Maryland. I'll look for you.)

I'm having a hard time feeling any optimism at this point. Clemson truly is a must win. No question about it. I need to hear something from Jags to give me reason to believe some change is coming.

Not to be a super homer, but maybe it is time to consider the possibility of Gameday coming to BC for the Notre Dame game. The only bigtime ranked team matchups are Oklahoma State @ Texas Tech (unlikely since Gameday is in Lubbock this week) and Alabama @ LSU (unlikely since both have been involved in gameday this year).

I thought for certain this game would be a 3:30PM kickoff with the Flutie statue dedication taking place at 2:00PM.

Just something to think about(or get mad about if you want us focusing on the ACC games that actually mean something).

the Flutie statue dedication is on Friday November 7th

Coming up from Florida also!!! (Fort Lauderdale, also Class of '08) :)

Road-tripped out last year for ND, one of the best memories of senior year! Hopefully we can keep it going.

how did so many people from our class head down this way and none of us know each other?

I'm wondering the same thing! We should all find a midway point (meaning a good bar we can all get to) to watch one of the later November games. Or maybe even Clemson this weekend? I'm getting really tired of watching these games with my sisters, who, if it's not the Gators, could really care less.

haha I'm getting tired of watching them on my couch and nobody goes to the supposedly organized Miami watch parties on the beach. Send me an email or find me on facebook and we'll work something out, i know of a couple others down here that would probably come (if you click on my name i think it brings you to a profile with my email/name in it)...

I'll be at the ND game too. It appears all of us posters will be at the game so Eagle in Atlanta might as well just shut off the in-game comments.

I think the game will be close, but I give the nod to ND. Too much talent.

I had a nightmare last night that we were getting crushed by Clemson 27-0 in the first half, but then, strangely, the game was called due to weather at halftime. I must have fallen asleep to the TV with the World Series on. I hope to God we don't lose to Clemson and go into a free-fall.
