Dallas Elmore, G, 6'5, 205lbs
What you need to know
This is tough to say before the games even start but Elmore is likely to be the odd man out this season. He'll be a wing player at the 2 and the 3 spots. That leaves him fighting for time against Raji, Sanders, Roche, and to a lesser extent when Paris, Jackson and Rice get moved to the 2 or when Trapani is used at the 3.
Strengths
One of the more athletic guys on the team. He can shoot from outside and move to the basket.
Issues
There are questions about his ball handling and his ability to rebound.
Miscellaneous
As the other Coloradan on the team, he is very familiar with Reggie Jackson. They played at the same level in high school and Elmore's career day was actually better than Jackson's playing against the same type of teams.
Outlook
I always like to think our next recruit will be a Dudley-type. But Skinner keeps a short rotation which means that if you arent't good enough early you may be shown the door. Whisper is that Elmore is decent but will be the third option at the wing. I hope he outperforms that assessment and becomes a solid producer.

As a fan, its a good problem to have. If he can work his way in to the rotation, then he's showing that he's got skills. Wish we had the same problem at center.
If he shows promise, let's hope he doesnt transfer, as Skinner has lost an obscene amount of players to transfer. As a Div. I school that plays in the ACC, we should not lose any players that we believe can contribute.
How many have really made an impact at their new school? Only Willie Deane at Purdue stands out in my mind.
But yes, the list is very long.
Gordon Watt, also for Purdue. Started 33 games for them last year. Averaged 7 ppg.

I just think we lost a lot of contributors because of Skinner's short rotation and his lack of developing players towards the end of the bench.
Johnnie Jackson (had the size and athletic ability to provide mismatches), Marquez Haynes (could have been a lockdown defender), Steve Hailey (decent PG who would have helped Rice Last Year), Gordon Watt (contributor on Purdue)...the list goes on. We produce a superstar here and there, but the flex is not a superstar's offense, its a team philosophy, we need to get back to developing a whole team. One injury and our season is again down the tubes.
