Recruiting news and other links

A program looking for a sense of hope got it with the verbal commitment of Ohio Linebacker Luke Kuechly. Kuechly is a St. Xavier product and keeps the BC-Cincinnati connection alive. Hopefully BC's other remaining targets respond as well to the coaching change as Kuechly did.

Kuechly wasn't the only recruit to commit this weekend. Georgia defensive tackle Bryan Davis also verballed to BC after visiting this weekend.

It is not all good news on the recruiting front. Dillon Quinn, one of BC's highest rated recruits, took a visit to Cincinnati and loved it. We'll see if he decommits from us to play for the Bearcats.

BC is still laying groundwork for next year's recruiting class including this QB.

Hockey's swoon continued Saturday night.

The BC women's basketball team improved to 3-1 in the ACC with their win over Miami.

BC has offered Mass basketball standout Carson Desrosiers a scholarship.

FWIW, Davis was recruited as a Center.

Miami made a late charge - "that’s when Picco and fellow backcourt partner Victoria Jones took over.

The two broke the Hurricanes’ press and combined for BC’s final 12 points, including an 8-for-8 showing from the stripe in the last 87 seconds."

Question for Coach Skinner - could your men ever shoot 8 for 8 from the free throw line at crunch time?

Kevin Morris (per ESPN) is new Umass coach: JBJr. still safe.

In an earlier post below, I hope Brez was right - that ultimately Jack Jr. did not like what he was hearing from UMass, and withdrew from consideration.

He belongs at BC at this point, and we're fortunate to have him. I don't know what future promises he will get, but hopefully they can sweeten his pay a little bit.

If Jr. continues to do well at BC, he can take over from Spaz down the line or move on to a good program in the future with our best wishes.
