just curious...what makes a game-watch official? i mean if you call the bar and ask them to have the game on does it count? and why is the hairy monk "unofficial"

this just in from the Boston Chapter of the Alumni Association:

"Sorry for the last minute notice, but if you're looking for a place to watch the games tonight...

Friday night, March 20, in collaboration with the Boston area USC alumni chapter
Brighton beer garden
7pm
Private cash bar and seating area
Hopefully they will also be showing BC/BU hockey"

"Official" gamewatches are ones organized by the local alumni chapter and often promoted by blast e-mails from the BC alumni association itself. I'm guessing "unofficial" gamewatches are just a group of BC fans getting together to watch the game and letting others know where they'll be.

Those hosting "unofficial" gamewatches in cities where there's no BC alumni chapter ought to get in touch with the BC alumni association to start up a local chapter. It can be as simple as what you're already doing-- putting together a gamewatch one time a year, but I bet if you take such a step you'll be surprised how many Eagles there are in different parts of the country!

"Unofficial Game Watch" which actually means that I know this bar will be showing both BC games tonight and I will be there with a handful of BC faithful:

The Fours
166 Canal St
(right by the garden)

if you are downtown, stop by

go eagles!
