BUmmer: BU tops BC again in OT

After a thrilling 3rd period where BC forced OT, BU put a damper on the night with an early game-winning goal. All reports say that it was a thrilling game. Conte was packed and it was back and forth. Yet even in their down year, the Terriers always seem to have our number. Maybe we will get revenge in the Beanpot.

the worst part is that the penalty that gave them the power play on which they would eventually score, off of a bc skate, was really very ticky tack.

i wouldn't worry too too much. we played a good game in front of our second string goalie, who did play well. i predict this team makes a typical BC feb/march run

Didn't get to go to the game, but watched on NESN. I agree with Ry that the penalty was fairly bunk, especially with less than a minute in a tied rivalry game.

I felt we played much better than we did at Fenway, at least offensively, and applied pressure all 3 periods.

Let's get a W tonight against U-Lowell. We'll probably see Muse.

(and bball get one in Blacksburg, please)

Totally agree with the assessment of last night's game. I think the thing that frustrated me the most was the inconsistent officiating late in the game. The call was right, but there were more blatant slashes and interference calls that were ignored.

Offensively, we played great and showed some heart. It is good to see guys not named Atkinson and Gibbons scoring some goals. If there were more time in that game, I'm convinced Jimmy Hayes would have killed Gryba.

Regardless of the outcome, this is a solid young team with only 4 seniors. We should see great things from these guys down the road. BU is going nowhere, while BC still has lots to play for.

What do you know? A poor decision to inbound into a triple team with 20 seconds left swung this bball game around...good effort, but a pretty dumb thing to do...again.

Bring on the countdown...

double booboo on trapani...that inbounds play was awful (with 4 TOs btw) and then running downcourt with no regard for jackson and running right in front of him only to have the ball get dribbled off the back of his foot. what the f was he thinking?

i know he lit it up last game and that he plays hard...but it really doesn't matter how hard you play if you do so like an idiot. we put together our second half run without him today...not sure that it was a coincidence.

one positive takeaway...elmore is playing well with the time he is given.

lastly, that countdown joke stopped being funny a while back. someone pulls it out after every hoop loss. those who watched the game know that this team is actually improving...and jumping on the bandwagon that only seeks to bury them isn't really helping anything.

CT, it may not have been a great decision, but that turnover wasn't our players' fault. The Tech defender crossed the baseline, which should have been a technical, and Biko was tied up by a guy standing out of bounds, which means he can't have any claim on the ball. The officials in this league are atrocious.

Now, that last play I can't defend...

It's actually not a joke.

Realistically, looking at the schedule, today might've just sealed things for this team. It was a hard fought game and I'm not a hater or trying to bury anyone especially not anyone on a BC team. Unfortunately, however, L's don't come with asterisks.

Ry, BC is playing better than they had been, I know, but they already have 9 losses. Unless they plan on winning 8, 9, or 10 of the last 10 before the ACC Tournament, or winning that tournament itself, realistically, it looks grim.

If they finish the year strong, it'll give me hope for next year, since it would take a near miracle to salvage 09-10 at this point.

Agreed that it should've been a timeout or stopped for another inbounds play...but the symptom remains the same. A bit more creativity wouldn't hurt on a play like that? We seem to put ourselves in bad positions vs. the press too often. Surprised VTech didn't press more.

The NIT seems assured, if the team doesn't quit. Too bad.

on that inbounds...there were other options. it was a lack of execution by trapani inbounding the ball, not the play itself. reggie was open for a longer period of time than biko.

and as far as the countdown, even if they were 0-6 in conference, it's still hoops season. give up if you want to...even if it isn't realistic, i refuse to be the kind of fan that buries his team.
