Slow news day and a hectic work week has kept me from more blogging the past few days. But the weekend will be huge. Friday night is the hockey game at Fenway (send your pics) and Saturday the basketball team has a critical game against Clemson.
BC will be wearing a special commemorative jersey for the game against BU. This is what they will look like.
Ugh. I love our regular jersey. These are...not my style. Next time Gene and Jerry need to call another BC guy before selecting special jerseys.

What color IS that? Yet another iteration in our seemingly endless line of "gold" options?
It looks beige for God's sake.
Maybe it looks better in motion?
I would have preferred they went with the retro jerseys:

Is BU wearing different jerseys too? The only positive I can think is that it MIGHT make it easier to pick out the BC players on the ice from a distance. I'm in the bleachers, so it might be a little bit of a strain on the eyes to follow the puck.
I actually love the stripes, and I could live with the color if we used "Boston College" instead of the logo just sort of floating there in the middle of the sweater. Oh well.
this is what BC needed the Under Armour deal for!
How about going truly old school and wearing something Jerry York wore when he was playing? Lace-up collar and everything...

This jersey pays more respects to Fenway and the Yawkey Group than BC, no? What a letdown.
The photo gallery on the BC site shows the back of the sweater, which has a tiny little baseball diamond where the player's name normally would be. That's not even going to show up on TV, nevermind from the seats at Fenway. Silly, but it really couldn't matter less. The whole thing is just so entirely magical and brilliant. It's also great that the NU and UNH women's teams are playing at Fenway (right now in fact). The men's teams must be bummin'.
I actually like the sweaters. The color isn't great (like the first ten minutes of the game), but the trim is awesome and I never like the word-mark on the regular sweaters. I do wish they had names on the backs, though.
They looked even uglier in person.
