Hockey and baseball change the mood around here

There is a pattern to Jerry York's best seasons. First the team plays well at the Beanpot. Then he wins the Hockey East...again. From there, the team makes a deep run into the NCAAs and ends up with the National Championship. Let's hope defeating UMass on Friday was just another step down that path. Cam Atkinson led the team with another triple double.

In baseball news, BC ended their recent losing streak by beating Miami in Miami. The key was Pat Dean. He was excellent and struck out nine. Saturday, Miami and BC play a doubleheader. Get to the stadium if you are in south Florida.

Does HOckeyEast re-seed when it gets to the Garden? If we win, and Merrimack were to take the next two against BU, would we play #6 Merrimack, or would it re-seed for UNH to play Merrimack and we'd play the 4/5 winner?

I'm curious about this because I didn't go to the BC game last night, I was at home watching Terps/Jackets and BU/Merrimack on TV. Merrimack, for those who didn't see, rolled out a strategy of keeping a player way out by the red line, accepting playing undermanned 4-on-5 in their zone, then sending the puck long when they got it out to their 5th guy, who was cherry picking and skating for fast breaks.

It was extremely entertaining and very high-risk high-reward. They got up on BU 2-0, but the pressure eventually got to Merrimack, so many scoring opportunities for the Terriers. I'm wondering if the 'mack will do it the next two games against BU and if they'd do it to us as well.

Merrimack's strategy did make it exciting - that 2nd goal of theirs, bouncing off of Millan's shoulder, was proof of the benefit of just putting the puck on net.
As to answer your question, no, I don't think HE reseeds, but am not certain

Just checked the bracket. No reseeding. I'd rather face them next round than BU, tho we'll beat BU handily this year, I think.

The tournament is re-seeded after the first round, so if Merrimack would move on, BC would be play the Lowell/Maine winner, unless UVM beats UNH, in which case we would play Merrimack.

The Merrimack strategy looks like it could work, since BU is not as fast and agile, but you are killing yourself in your own zone with a BU team that likes to bang around and create opportunities in the crease. It could work for one game, though.

Tight one last night... UMass turned it on early in the third, but it was really the two 5 on 3's that made the game closer than it should have been. If we stay out of the box, tonight should be better.

Wait, if UNH loses, we would play UVM... sorry

HE does reseed which is why we played BU last year. We were the 6 (the lowest seed) and they were the 1.

Very sloppy game and I'd imagine Muse will start tonight. Granted we dug ourselves into a hole with multiple 5 on 3s.

It's nice to have a coach that can win in March

Where do you hear that there's a doubleheader today? There was talk about a doubleheader with all the rain in Florida yesterday, but they got the Friday game in.

Thanks for correcting me about the reseeding. It'd be nice if HE explained that somewhere easy to find on their site.

Probably a dumb question, but what is a triple double in referring to hockey stats?
