Coaches ignore BC in 1st Coaches Poll

The USA Today released the first coaches poll. BC did not earn one vote. Multiple coaches we play are voters, yet even they didn't throw us a bone. Note a good indicator. Future opponents Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Florida State all enter the season ranked.

Flying under the radar might be to our advantage this year. Let's come out of the blocks strong this year against Northwestern.

It's okay with me that we have to earn our way into the polls. 3rd&9quill set the stage for that.

I can only forgive Spaziani for that debacle if Rogers does an outstanding job.

They do not deserve to be ranked. However, if they beat UCF and NW, then they would be in the top 25.

I agree with JBQ. We didn't finish the season on a strong note,and I doubt that the world took as much notice as our board members have as to what changes occured in our off season. I will say this though. I don't think Texas should be even close to the top 25.

Yeah, I agree. We haven't done anything to deserve being ranked (I mean for that matter, no one technically has, blah blah blah). Starting off the year by beating two teams in the other votes category would be a good start though.

And you know, not losing five games in a row at any point in the season.

Northwestern & UCF rank out at 29 & 31 respectively, so we'll be underdogs, and likely get some real street credit for respectable wins while everyone else is beating up on cupcakes.

Why should the other coaches throw us a bone? Our very own coach barely gives this team any credit.

Folks, we have to get by Northwestern before even thinking about getting ranked. Dan Persa is a legitimate Heisman candidate and I fear Alumni will be lethargic as the whale pants crowd hits the Cape on Labor Day weekend. Northwestern is a good team and I think many BC fans are taking them way too lightly.

I think it's more the like that the posters on the boards are more likely to wear BC whale pants. I feel like I should buy just to show my support.

Eagleboston--

For as legit as the Northwestern offense is, the defense is equally "offensive".

Remember this team lost six of their last eight while the D gave up over 35 points per contest.
