New BC Media site and other links

Considering the inconsistent coverage BC receives from the Boston media, it makes sense for the school to cover the team themselves. The latest addition to the Media coverage is BC's media center. Most of this has been available in the past but the game highlights are new.

The team played in pads for the first time. Full contact comes Friday. The first scrimmage will be Saturday night.

BC commit Joël Zoungrana earned an award in Canada. I always like to hear what recruits say because it tells you what the coaches are saying to them. Here are some quotes from Joel with my bolds for emphasis.

There has been a lot of change in this program. Coach Spaziani has only been there for three years. They just need to find some stability and it’s going to be fine. I am not worried about the program at all.

Given what they are telling a camper who they recruited, I think BC must be hearing about an uncertain future for Spaz. Let's hope Spaz blows the doors off of this season so that no one questions his future at BC.

The kid's full quote is interesting:

"'They got a new offensive coordinator out of the Minnesota Vikings. There has been a lot of change in this program. Coach Spaziani has only been there for three years. They just need to find some stability and it’s going to be fine. I am not worried about the program at all. And I’ve been working out all winter as a DB, so of course having a chance playing on that great defense will be something. But I’ll play on either side of the ball, as long as I can contribute.'"

DB? Kid was recruited as a WR!

I had heard that Joel Z might be suited for corner. He's strong, has quick feet, and ideal size, at nearly 6'1" 185. So no complaints from me there. That's pretty much the same description of Fletcher and ALJ.

But that means we need 1-2 more WRs to pair with Jackson.

What's confusing is why Joel would harp on stability if he's slated for defense. The defense has been the model of stability through all 3 coaching changes. Same style, same coaches, and same great results.

It's the offense that needs the fresh start, new direction, and stability.
