Pantale's surgery scheduled for Monday

BC Captain Chris Pantale will undergo surgery Monday to fix the broken bone in his foot. Recovery is scheduled for six to eight weeks. At this point a medical redshirt is unlikely. Pantale redshirted as a freshmen and as we learned with Momah, the NCAA is unwilling to grant sixth years unless the both redshirts are tied and documented to the same medical issue. Let's hope for quick and healthy return.

I feel badly for Chris - this is a tough blow in your last year.

I hope he makes a full recovery after surgery. It would be great if he was available for Florida State and Georgia Tech, but who knows with these things?

The last 5 games are very important as well - and I hope we can win them all or 4 out of 5. I know that is pie in the sky, but I'm a fan, so what can I say.

Go BC - beat Miami.

I don't think the 6th year is contingent on the injury being the same. But to get the 6th year, it has to be use to season-ending injury during two different seasons. Two documented medical redshirts gets you a sixth year. One team-optional non medical redshirt plus a real documented redshirt = no sixth year. Either way, Pantale seems to be out of luck.

Hope Pantale comes back strong. But we've got some depth at TE. Also curious that Martin is plugging in Bowen, a 285 OT, for TE duty. Another blocker I guess

Man a tough blow for a team that lost the 2nd most starts due to injury in all of college football in 2011. One would think our luck has got to turn soon.

If he can get back by October 20th (which is 10 weeks out....I'm being conservative), BC would have him for 6 games, which is half the season at least. Someone else will just have to step up in the meantime.

Interesting that Harrison Jackson led all receivers in the scrimmage. I don't put a lot of stock in the scrimmage stars but it would be neat if the young guy could work into the rotation.
