Hockey, Beyonce? and other links

The Men's Hockey team lost at home to UMass, 5-2. We hadn't loss to UMass at Conte since 2007.

Delaware hired former BC Offensive Coordinator Dave Brock as their new head coach.

The Women's hockey team beat Mercyhurst

Chris Pantale is making the most of his opportunity to impress at the East-West Shrine game

Finally, check out this picture of Beyonce:
As reader Brian pointed out, that is a Flutie-era Boston College helmet. Isn't it? I can't think of any other college or pro team that ever looked like that. What is it doing there? My guess is that it was just some prop the photographer or GQ had lying around. But the pic is random. Someone should show it to Under Armour and Bates and explain that it would be a much cooler alternate helmet. "See, the white stripe helmet stinks. Let's go with the Beyonce helmet! That will make us seem cool."

Forget Under Armour, BC should try to get Beyonce on board.

I don't think it's a BC helmet, the gold is more copper orange, where BC's was a browner gold.

There's a helmet in that picture?

What is the difference between ND and BC? According to Shaughnessy at the Globe it is CLASS( see 1992 article). ND has it in spades and BC has none. I hope everyone will bear that in mind during this T'eo affair and it's cover up. 2 Will Fowler do another sycophantic interview with the deceiver? The Heisman trophy has become a hoax as well.

Which is worse, Ned? Teo being duped and trying to save face or Mark Chmura (BC '92) partying with underaged girls at his babysitter's prom party and sexually assaulting one?

Or nd covering up a rape and another girl committing suicide because nd did nothing. The ny times revisited the suicide today. All for the sake of nd football. This is why leahy cant be bothered with sports. There is just too much baggage in this day and age.

To preface coasts inevitable response. There was a sexual assault above the waist as he states. That led to the suicide. A year later there was a full rape and she was silenced. There are quotes from an nd saying she asked for it. Nd is just like any other place now. Just win.

So, a year after she committed suicide, she was raped?

Look, I know you're eager to get the hatchet out and take chops at Notre Dame, but the above-the-waist sexual assault was grabbing a breast, not intercourse.

Grabbing a breast against her will is not excusable and should be punished accordingly, but it is not rape.

Read the article moron. There was another case, different girl. She was silenced.

The washington post piece was written by an nd alum. I used to respect nd, they were one of the last good guys when it came to trying to do it right. Now they just want to win. The girl who was raped and pressured not to report came from a family of nd graduates. There is no ax to grind.

Sorry for the moron comment, I was unclear. Here is the article, there was an attack on a second woman, a rape. She was pressured not to talk, he played this year.

What gets me in this aricle is the fact the president of ND, a priest, refused to meet with a grieving family due to the advice of counsel. That is what ND has become. Its the same thing as Penn State, protect the brand and win football games. The students come second. There are numerous other articles and info on the second rape by this same author.

If you think rapes are exclusive to Notre Dame, Duke, and Penn State, you're off-base. They are, unfortunately, more common than people would like to believe. That includes Boston College.

The only reason Te'o's story got this kind of attention is because it was ND.

If an Alabama Heisman finalist playing for his leukemia stricken dead girlfriend in the national championship game; I promise you we would have heard about it when the girlfriend didn't exist.

To your point though; only at ND would Te'o have gotten the media love to have been considered as Heisman finalist.

It has to do with cover ups and a history of lack of support of female victims at nd. It has to do with protecting the brand. It has to do with the superior moral image nd projects which is false, it has nothing to do with other schools. I went to nd for grad school fyi.

BC got rid of will poole, he supposedly assaulted a girl. That is why TOB told nfl teams he was a bad person. This stuff happens at bc too, but the admin at bc seems to like to just tell people to leave. Its the moral superiority i have a problem with. What does duke have to do with any of this? Your arguments are poor at best.

Coast - what does professional football player Chmura have to do with ND keeping the lid on the Teo story?
