In-game comment post: ACC Tournament Opener

Since so many of you are at work, I thought it might make sense for a comments post. Leave your thoughts on our game below.

Go BC!

BC going with Rahon, Hanlan, Heckmann, Anderson, and Clifford as the starting 5. this is probably the most traditional starting 5 in terms of size (Heckmann at 3 instead of Jackson, going with Clifford as the C instead of starting Odio and Anderson together).

also gives us some nice boost off the bench -- Odio, Jackson, plus Van Nest.

LETS GO, keep the season going!

BC needs to at least show up today. Donahue's first 2 ACC tournaments have been forgettable to say the least.

we got drubbed by Clemson 70-47 in his first year, and then lost 78-57 to NC St last year.

We're down 14-0, less than 5 minutes in. Nothing is dropping, and GT is making the plays early

We should thank GT for letting us back in this game with their shot selection.

Keith: if you have xm it is 190.

giving up all of the runs defensively is maddening. GA Tech was getting all the calls early. at one point it was 7 free throws to 0.

but Hanlan has led a big time come back. huge steal on the inbounds, and 1. and hit an NBA range 3.

28-25 ga tech, after they started up 15-0. LETS GO

I don't mind GT taking 3s. They won't all drop.

Wow! What a half. down 15-0 and with the chance to keep the lead at halftime

Hanlan with 21 points on 8-12 shooting. HOW DO PEOPLE NOT LOVE THIS KID. what a thrilling first half. closed on 38-18 run LETS GO

EL MIZ said...

Hanlan fouled on the 3, no call. BC hasn't gotten many calls in this one, seems like GA Tech is getting away with being way more physical.

gotta love the young team fighting back.

ATL_eagle said...

Agreed on the no calls. That's two games against GT where they are not being called for their physical play.

BTW, I think we can say that Hanlan is now our best player.

that was awsome

hanlan with 29 pts. 15 minutes left in the 2nd. i hope all the Negative Nancies who lament our talent are watching Hanlan absolutely school GA Tech.

The defense is playing well this half.

The thing about Olivier Hanlan is that he is a talented basketball player.

Wow.

ATL_eagle said...

I don't want to get greedy but I would love Hanlan to get 50.

BC on a 75-35 run.

Hanlan is an absolute talent. he's been a thrill to watch since the summer games in Spain when he rebounded a ball in the paint, took it coast to coast and got an and-1.

i hope he breaks Barnes' freshman scoring record (41).

BRING ON THE CANES. LETS MAKE A RUN!!!!!

When was the last time BC was up by 22 points,6 minutes left.

if Alex Dragicevich is any good, we've got some depth next year with much more experience.

Get some help for a healthy Dennis Clifford, and BC Basketball is on the way back - and fun to watch this style. Hustle, hustle, hustle - whereas the stand around flex had become stale without the perfect players for that style.

Go Olivier - get the record. Make history.

What a game. Bring on Miami!

so happy for this team. 95% of our points come from freshmen and sophomores, we start down 15-0, and rather than quit we just kept fighting and Hanlan absolutely took over. he could not be stopped and i am real excited for tomorrow's re-match with Miami. we let them off the hook in Conte (and Durand Scott ACC DPOY got away with a total flop on Rahon with 15 sec left) -- lets see if the magic continues.

4-game winning streak, and we are now 16-16. congrats to the boys, they are a fun group to root for and to watch.

I'm with El Miz. These guys epitomize the old college try.

They play hard and seem to genuinely like each other.

The rest of the team played very well too.

Was watching the game a Meadhall in Cambridge, next to where I work. Guy comes over and asks: Am I a Carolina fan and he can sit down, had my Boston College hat on. Says he is from Carolina and in town for an interview. Then he asks me if Hanlan is going pro. Said No. Now I rethinking that answer
