Darren Flutie's son Troy committed to BC almost immediately after receiving his offer. He's a QB at Natick but expected to play WR at BC (just like his dad). Addazio denied any pressure to offer a Flutie a scholarship, but frankly I don't care if it was a factor. This will be a huge class and we need guys who can do many things. If Troy is anything like Billy he will see the field and help BC in one way or another.
Stewart Mandel gets into the specifics of Tennessee, but does address why schools like BC are seeing a bounce in recruiting under a new coach.
The wiseguys in Vegas jumped on BC early. Take it for what it is worth. Maybe we will surprise people this year.

Yeah I don't get some of the negativity about Troy that I'm seeing over on EO. He wanted to play at BC, he can clearly play, so give him a scollie for Chrissakes. What's the alternative? To see a Flutie commit to Uconn or Rutgers or something?
Good p.r. move. Like it or not, the "stars were aligned" when Gerard Phelan caught that pass. I am still scared to watch the replays because he may drop it. I still believe that Brent "Fuss"berger" (I don't believe it) was touched by an angel like Saul of Tarsus and this incident revived a faltering career which by the way was on its way to oblivion.
Saw Flutie play in high school super bowl. Excellent instincts. Reminds one of Johnny football and his uncle Doug. Hope he plays qb at BC. Almost all top qbs in program history were either local ( St. Pierre, Hasselbacks, Concannon) or were legacy ( Foley, Ryan). Troy fits into both categories. Happy days are here again. 2. Final game of 2011 was at Miami. Golden complemented the strength and power of the o-line. He said the U was going to have to get bigger and stronger to beat BC. The core of that group ( White, Vardaro and Harris) are still on the team. If they can add one or two pieces ( Patchem, Kramer, Homer or Taylor) a solid unit may emerge. Only eleven weeks to kickoff. Happy Fathers Day.
Welcome to BC, Troy. I'm on the positive side and I wish you the best.
Let's pick up on Ned"s optimism and Go BC.
Love the optimism but I hope you all are patient and give Daz the time he needs to repair the disaster that was Spaz. Most of these players won't see the field until 2015, so expect a couple rough seasons en route to the return to glory.
At least we have hope for the first time in years!
No patience! I fully expect 10-2 this season! Daz is on notice! Feel the excitement!
