Herbstreit just picked BC over USC. I'm a little worried about USC feeling like their backs are against the wall and coming up really fired up. But, BC can come in with confidence and with the knowledge that they have nothing to lose. No one expects them to beat BC (except Kirk)so the pressure is all on the Trojans. If BC can strike early and get the boo birds out, I think the Eagles have a chance.

I am at the Coliseum and it is hot on a cloudless day.

We ate on all white uniforms and the team was all business getting off the bus.

Go BC-beat USCj

Our university's motto seems especially appropriate today:

"He sent me to TROY with strict instructions: Ever to excel, to do better than others, and to bring glory to your forebears, who indeed were very great ... This is my ancestry; this is the blood I am proud to inherit."

Plenty of empty seats at Kickoff.

Not a bad opening drive all things considered. Loved passing to Naples.

Does anyone have a link to an audio feed that is actually streaming?

eagleboston said...

The USC O-line is crushing the BC defense. I just hope we can keep close until the end.

The official website has a link to the radio feed. Go to schedule and click on the USC game.

Ouch, my biggest fear was USC would score early, gain some confidence and then wear BC down. The BC offense must answer here or it will be a long, long afternoon.

ATL_eagle said...

Too many plays where we were just a step too slow.

Is the game on any radio inBoston? I've got the stream but I'd like to get it in the car . It's not on weei or wrko

ATL_eagle said...

We are playing it very safe on offense. I know USC has issues but we still need to take some chances.

Bjk where you sitting?

eagleboston said...

Well, the offense did not answer, but the defense did. Great sack by Kasim and nice defensive stand.

C'mon offense, help he D boys out!

ATL_eagle said...

Bringing pressure paid off. D needs to keep it up.

Danny Boy said...

It is amazing how much our tackling has improved year to year, especially in the secondary. When our DBs hit a guy, he goes down.

ATL_eagle said...

Play calling wad better. Results weren't. Freese doing work.

eagleboston said...

We need to get some 1st downs and keep that D off the field.

Danny Boy said...

We need to eliminate that 3rd down dump off to Dudeck. He doesn't seem capable of picking up the first down.

Benjamin said...

Well that was an unfortunate blown coverage.

A friend at the game says Lee has been single covered all game with minimal help over the top. It was only a matter of time.

Game over. You can't leave Lee wide open like that.

The Spaz talent gap is clearly evident in this game. We cannot compete with the big boys and, unfortunately, until Daz gets his players on campus with a couple years of experience, this will be the norm for a couple years. At least 2016 has promise.

ATL_eagle said...

Offense needs to answer now. Playing it close now not an option.

eagleboston said...

Oh well, at least Alabama is also getting smoked 14-0.

ATL_eagle said...

The skill position difference was obvious. I had hoped Daz would work some miracles on the oline. Not today.

ATL_eagle said...

Not a great half. A little sign of life though. Rettig needs to play much better.

Big Jack Krack said...

Mike I am in sec 5 row 49 seat 1 and 2 behind BC bench 20yard line.

Big Jack Krack said...

USC is tough for us for sure- let's score out of the gate.

eagleboston said...

Is Amidon hurt? Crimmins is getting the ball tossed his way but he had at least 3 drops at critical times. He needs to step up his play and help Rettig out. Or, forget Crimmins and go to Amidon if he is not hurt.

ATL_eagle said...

Rettig is pressing. Needed his best. Not getting it.

Big Jack Krack said...

Amidon can't get open

Big Jack Krack said...

KPL hamstring problem oh boy

ATL_eagle said...

SC is too fast for the trapping.

eagleboston said...

Does Addazio not have the QB sneak in his playbook? You are not going to get a yard running way over to the left.

Big Jack Krack said...

Losing charge go BC

Bravesbill said...

BC has to open the play book and quit this running up the middle nonsense. Has not and will not work. And how about a QB dive there instead of handing the ball off 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

Bravesbill said...

And in speaking of the USC offense, it looks much better when they actually throw the ball beyond the line of scrimmage. What the hell was Kiffin thinking last week?

eagleboston said...

Man, I hate Spaz! Why do we have to pay that asshole $1,000,000 for destroying our program and making us an embarrassment? Fortunately, no one is watching this debacle.

Bravesbill said...

Can BC just not throw the ball normally down the field? Play action takes too much time to develop.

eagleboston said...

This game is out of reach. No use getting Rettig hurt in mop-up play. Why not toss in one of the other QBs and see if they can provide some kind of spark to this abysmal offense?

Bravesbill said...

That comment could have applied to the entire game really.

ATL_eagle said...

Offense has not adjusted well.

eagleboston said...

Utter embarrassment. We just hit USC at the wrong time. You never want to play an opponent backed into a corner. Although I should not be upset. The first thing I said several years ago when this game was scheduled was "there's a guaranteed loss." And that was when BC was reasonably good.

Bravesbill said...

BC was way too conservative on offense the entire game and took zero chances. Never threw the ball down the field. Just kept running and play actions (which took forever and almost killed Rettig). Terrible game plan. Ryan Day's doing maybe?

ATL_eagle said...

The freshmen looked good. And we avoid the shutout.

Mj said...

Allthough USC has more offensive speed and size, it's commendable that BC kept their penalties to a minimum.

USC defensive line had too much power, But obviously with the last BC touchdown they are NOT giving up..... And that will be the take-home message.

I knew we were in trouble when I saw the Wake score at 2:45.
