Williams, Jones honored and other links

After his big game Friday, Andre Williams earned Offensive Back of the Week honors. Bryce Jones also earned individual accolades for his performance against Wake.

BC inched a bit higher in ESPN's ACC Power Rankings.

It has only been two games, but Don Brown's defense is showing year over year improvement.

Our smallest recruit had a great weekend.

Field Hockey lost to UMass.

Volleyball won BC's own Invitational.

The Boston College-bound Alston carried 22 times for 135 yards and a career-high four touchdowns, including three in the first half to help the Knights forge a surprising 35-0 lead. Quai Jefferson (UMass) scored twice, one off a pass by Aukamp, who was a tidy 5 of 6 for 103 yards passing. “That kid is crazy good. You can’t stop him,” Aukamp said of Alston. “He should have way more offers than he does, no doubt in my mind. I don’t care how big he is (5-7, 175), he’s a tremendous ball player.”

How come nobody is talking about being unable to watch this weekends USC game? Nobody gets that PAC 12 Network, right? So what is it that I am missing here?

Hopefully there will at least be a Boston Game Watch at a bar that has it.

On Saturday, there was an announcement that an agreement had been signed by the Pac 12 Network with AT&T U-verse. I have U-verse and so far am being told that I am not in the region which will televise the game.

So it's on to LA to face the Trojans. Let's go BC - we can do this!

We are flying out Friday for this "Bowl Game", and really looking forward to it.

I had the opportunity to meet and chat with the Dad of one of our defensive backs (we were at the airport.)

Difference between this year (and this staff) with the past several years (and Spaziani's staff) is night and day.

When they were playing zone defense and employing the infamous cushion, the players "didn't know what to do." It was against their very nature to be passive, rather than to be aggressive and defend by attacking.......... Duh.

The players appreciate Coach Addazio and Coach Brown and all their coaches. I'll leave the implication to the readers.

The players are "playing college football" and flying around the field. Will we get burned? yes. Will we make mistakes? yes.

Will we play hard? Yes, yes, yes!

As Coach Coughlin once said - and I'm sure Coach Addazio feels the same way --- we're going to hit you hard in the first quarter; we're going to hit you hard in the second quarter; we're going to hit you hard in the third quarter; and in the fourth quarter - we are really going to hit you hard!!!!

Go BC - bet the USC Trojans and send Lane Kiffin to the showers.

From The Boston Herald

The Eagles lost the services of two key starters in the Wake Forest game in senior left tackle Matt Patchan (hip) and senior middle linebacker Steve Divitto (elbow).

But Addazio said Patchan and Divitto are expected to play against this week.“They were banged up but I don’t anticipate anything huge there,” said Addazio. “We should have them.”

Addazio added that injured third-down tailback Tahj Kimble (left knee) has made progress and could return against Florida State after the bye week
