It took a half to adjust to Army's option, but once we got the hang of it, BC controlled. The player of the game was obviously Andre Williams, who tied BC's rushing and TD records. Overall the offense played very well throughout and just overpowered the Cadets. It is what we should always do against Army. The win was BC's third and already surpasses last year's total.
I will have second viewing thoughts and grades up late Sunday.

After watching our BC kids win with an impressive performance by Andre, the O-line and Rettig, and last week's revelations vs. FSU, I was a very happy fella. There is hope and joy in Eagleville. And now I see ND in Texas, wearing those clownish, garish uniforms, a too slick gold and a weak pea green-- shamrocks abounding, again announcing their arrival to the world in a tasteless display of egomania. Wow--do I wish it was we in Jerry's Dome sockin' it to em tonight. Go Devil's! (Nice ASU colors, too.) Go Eagles! A Good win for The Heights!

It is obvious that Dazio wants to run the ball. He said so. However when it is needed, BC needs some speed at wide receiver. Where oh where is Spiffy?
The staggering difference between BC coaching staffs was illustrated at the end of the first half. Rather than take a knee and go into the locker room with a lead, Daz elected to go for it with less than a minute to go. The result was 3 more points and the message that the Eagles play to win. Me like!!
Yet the week before, we were too conservative and gave the ball back to FSU and they scored on that Hail Mary -same staff. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with the way things are going

Perhaps they learned from last week's mistake? Also, you could argue that it was a poor punt more than anything that allowed Florida State to score. Further, the defense ignored the cardinal rules of the Hail Mary. Never let a receiver get behind you, play the ball and not the receiver, and swat the ball to the ground.
"Getting it done" in front of an empty stadium in the beginning of the game (first half of the 1st quarter), and an empty stadium at the end of the game (last half of 4th quarter).
It's really disappointing to attend a game against Army on a beautiful fall day in front of an announced crowd of 33,000 +. During the game if there were ever more than 30,000 in the stadium I'll eat my hat.
So while we have admonished our school to rid itself of the two stooges and upgrade its programs - football especially - we have to also realize that fans attend games.
There was no buzz in the minutes leading up to kickoff - zero!!!!!
We will probably lose handily at Clemson, but this team won't quit.
It would be nice if the fans wouldn't quit as well.
I factor in the Red Sox in the playoffs, as well as the Patriots, Bruins and Celtics. BC should still draw 40, 000 with full houses for the top teams.
Hell, FSU could be in the National Championship - not saying they'll beat Clemson. But if Top 5 Teams (that's what they are in IMHO) visit Chestnut Hill, and we can't fill the place up - or keep fans in the seats in the 4th quarter - shame on us. We fans stink as much as Napoleon DeFillipo and Frank Spazastoogie.
Wake up BC fans - your school needs you to show some spirit.

It's the local alumni. They are complete losers when it comes to college football. I have already attended 2 college football games (one at Iowa and I also witnessed the debacle at my son's school, Iowa State, where Texas was stripped of the ball at the goal line but the Southern refs ruled against them). I am going to fly out to Boston, as I do every year, for the Va Tech game. If those of us from far away can spend a lot of money and time to see BC, the local alumni should get off their asses and support BC. BC will
never be great without support. So, come on Chowderheads, get to Alumni and support this team!
