Basketball employed a 2-3 zone for much of the first half against VCU and it worked. However, in the second half things fell apart. VCU kept breaking down our sets before we could get into the 2-3 and the rebounding was terrible. There is so much wrong right now, I don't know where to start. We've all sat throw disappointing BC teams and seasons, but I can't recall one BC team -- in any sport -- that regressed so much from one season to the next.
Addazio picked up another decommit. NJ Lineman Austin Stevens flipped from Kansas to BC.
The Hockey team crushed Penn State.
With Westbrook going down for a few weeks, Reggie Jackson's productivity and scoring should go up.

Let's start here: These kids can't shoot. They don't score. They don't play D. They turn the ball over and... got no game. They work the ball around until heads explode...They're nice boys...but there's no fight on this team. Al Skinner did not recruit gentlemen...He was no sideline wizard, but his kids were scrappy...this lot...is not.
More of the same from the BC Hoops team - got spanked by VCU yesterday. When will the Boston papers pickup on this story and start speculating on Donahue's replacement?
When will the Boston papers pickup on this story and start speculating on Donahue's replacement?
When their readers start to care who coaches BC?
It would be even nicer if the Boston papers (or anybody) first asked Donahue for some kind of explanation as we are no longer young anymore and he is such a nice guy.
Is it still taboo to say that this team sucks?
Donahue's comments are bizarre. Perhaps he's feeling his seat heat up a bit. There is nothing being built here - the offense is broken, the defense is a disaster, and this team is not getting better. if he's still the coach in 4 months we are in big trouble.
He can be relieved of his duties anytime as far as I'm concerned. I'm not normally like that, but this situation is bad news.
Steve, we hardly knew Ye! Ba-bye.
You were pretty well paid for this poor effort.
Next at Harvard, where Onahue will be schooled again.
Why are we the worst team in Boston?
The coach knows that he is building his program right, and that we will be champions someday. He just doesn't know when that will be.
Let me state that it will be sometime after he is gone.
If i could pose some questions to the blogger and peanut gallery...Are there any legitimate advantages to a midseason firing at this point? Are there political or financial reasons that would prevent such a decision? Would the administration take a stab at Bruce Pearl, or are we all just delusional? If so, is he eligible to coach now?
Well shalom to that I would say are there ANY disadvantages to firing this coach midseason ??? Never mind the losses, which will continue to mount, if you look at our wins this season, and how they won, it becomes even more depressing. As far as Pearl goes, geez...., I was a student at BC when he was there, and he single handedly resurrected enthusiasm around the bball program. This guy teared up when "For Boston" was played when BC played his Wisconsin-Milwaukee club way back then in the tourney. He has baggage, but he would bring back bball to Chestnut Hill that's for sure. Don't know if he could handle being restrained at all, and don't know if administration/admissions would give him freedom to do. So, great question...... at this point anything would be better than this. But, for now, GO EAGLES !! on Tuesday and beat Arizona.
Fake
I'd be fine w/ Pearl, but I'd be suprised if BC would go in that direction. This was in the times yesterday and I'm sure this guy is on Bates radar. My only issue w/ the story is how anyone could site a win vs BC as worth anything.
