Louis-Jean declares for NFL Draft

BCI first tweeted it out, but Albert Louis-Jean declared for the NFL Draft. On the surface it is a curious move since ALJ never lived up to his high school recruiting ratings and never showed NFL potential in his two seasons at BC. But given the hot water he had with coaches (suspended for Nova and missing the Bowl), there is probably more to this story. Maybe he and his family decided to roll the dice on the NFL instead of transferring somewhere. He only has two years remaining and transferring would eat up one more year of playing time.

As a non-factor in the secondary, I don't think this will impact the 2014 season. I also don't think this is the end of things. There will be more attrition as guys who were recruited by Addazio Spaz start to look for greener pastures. I also think there will probably be another guy or two who is buried on the depth chart that decide to explore other options.

Best of luck to ALJ. I don't expect him to catch on with an NFL team, but I've been wrong about these things before.

A bad DB, with issues, on one of the worst pass defenses in college football is heading for the NFL?

Sounds like he got booted from team.

Did you forget a "not"' here:

"There will be more attrition as guys who were NOT recruited by Addazio start to look for greener pastures."

agree with 34B. the secondary was brutal last year and i don't recall ALJ making many plays. best of luck to him, but i do not think he'll be missed. we need some new blood back there.

98 underclassmen declared for the draft - 25 more than last year. How many of these kids will be drafted in late rounds or go undrafted? Some of them are getting some bad advice or they painted themselves in a corner. ALJ may well be one of them.

They can go to the advisory board and get a feel for where they'll go. ALJ has a sense of his place. Good luck to him.

BC just got a commitment from Nat Dixon, 6'5 WR from FL who had interest from Maryland, South Carolina, Clemson, and scholarship offers from a few smaller schools (South Florida, Elon).

so excited to see Addazio build this team with his own guys.

Murphy will help in a transition year. However with such a poor team suiting up next year, you have to look at the real possibility of him getting hurt. The transition will be brutal. As bad as ALJ was supposed to be, he was one of the better d backs. Willis is no Andre Williams. All of the signs are there for a complete collapse of the team. Murphy has experience so you can start upgrading from an 0-12 season. On paper, BC is terrible. You can't play all freshmen against a team like Florida State or even Clemson. The score would be 70-0 at halftime.

as usual, thanks to JBQ for the entertainment. Can we take a poll of opinions on whether he is serious or having a on of fun jerking others around. i lean towards a big fun job.

@Joseph: Someone has to bring some laughs to a too serious environment.
