Georgia Tech game postponed

Georgia Tech postponed Wednesday night's basketball game. The game will take place Thursday afternoon. I know those outside the area scoff at Atlanta shutting down from a winter storm, but I can tell you from my house in the suburbs that the roads are covered in ice. And based on Danya's pictures, things aren't much better downtown.

Hopefully the game goes off on Thursday. Due to the extra prep time and lack of crowd, maybe BC can pull a little upset.

From reading about Atlanta and ice, I can't understand how "one snow flake" can cause such consternation? Atlanta is another one of those urban miracles where big money was invested in mass transit for the "poor" instead of modernizing the entire city. Those with no money can get to work while those who are hiring those with no money cannot get to work. What a country. Georgia Tech is accessible by Marta from the airport. I checked it out in regard to a football game. Nevertheless, mass transit is just too dangerous as I was told by a young relative in Atlanta who had served with the USMC in Iraq.

There are many inaccuracies in that post. Born and raised here in Atlanta, please, unless you want a tutorial in sprawl and the demographic impacts unique to southern cities, just please. Educated comments are so much more fun to read.

I know I'm coming in way late on this, but ATL asked about the BBall coach wish list we might have--I also believe, as "Unknown" put up, that a Jerry York with a dash of Addazio is a good idea--but I want to throw in a bit of Al Skinner sauce in the mix. Al recruited "out of his shoes" when BC had fallen to depths in the abyss.I know this is gonna sound nuts, but I wish we were nuts enough to go with Kareem and I'm serious about that. He's smart, honorable and has been mislabeled for years__the real guy is A Man. Like Cousy, he's a BBall icon, top five all-time, and would demand a class act from every kid. He was coached by The Coach. Imagine Kareem coming into a family home to recruit a blue chip kid for BC! Just imagine the vibe in that alone. It's so outside the solar system that it would work. Think about it, Mr. Bates. Make an offer. See what happens.

Once again, JBQ shows us his closed minded ignorant side.

Good quote from a movie. Means a lot to me but you are still an over educated narrow minded bigot.

and we lost again. BC now 6-18 on the year. 2-9 in the ACC playing the same teams we played last year and knew we'd be playing this year. no excuses. can't wait until the "Donahue was fired today" post.

Its not just that we lost, its how we lost; i.e., after an excellent effort by the kids, BC is leading with seconds left and GT grabs the ball as it goes through the net...3.5 seconds...GT has no time outs left...GT must go length of court and score without setting up play....BUT...Donahue calls timeout!

Donahue gives us the extreme example of what we have taken to calling "over coaching" and it costs BC the game.

I know Donahue will say he wanted to set the BC defense; but his timeout gave GT an opportunity to draw up the play setting up the winning shot. It was an amazing shot in and of itself; but Donahue should have let GT scramble. he should not have called a t.o. Even the commentators couldn't figure it out. G-man started to say something; but held off.
