Tigers too much

I didn't get to see any of the game (family weddings take precedence over good blogging). From following a bit online I gather BC had some moments but didn't do enough. Like all losses it is now about regrouping.

I will have more comments later and an update Sunday.

Your family wedding went better than the game did.

A winnable game lost due to poor execution on a few key plays.

We can all find lots of silver-linings in our loss, but it's still a loss. Not good

Good game Clemson just executed a little better. I like our team though.

The team played according to its ability. They did not give up. If there was more ability they might have won, but they played up to their talents. They are not perfect and did not lose because they didn't try. It is silly to talk about poor execution as if they could turn perfection off and on like a light bulb. They played their hearts out and we should never ask or expect more. Do your best is all that can be expected.

Dropping catchable balls is killing us. Lots to like about this team, but my God, hold onto the dang ball when it comes right to you.

I think they played above their ability, particularly on D. Getting out executed is a function of ability. I only bring it up because so many fans look to blame the coaches. In this game the coaches called a great game on both sides of the ball, had the guys ready to go, and we almost stole one. I was very pleased w/ everything about this game except the final score. If you keep getting in position to win, sooner or later things will break your way. Keep the faith.

Catching passes and kicking PATs are simple things to execute; something that most high schoolers can do. Unfortunately, BC can't do these things consistently. Hence poor execution Joseph.

Ditto Hoib.
Great effort. Obviously disappointing finish.
Athletically outclassed, this team played hard throughout.
Maybe a little too stubborn with runs up the gut, but otherwise a really well called game.
Missed PAT was killer as it forced desperation at the end instead of only needing 3 to tie for OT.
The fact that we were a dropped touchdown pass away from almost certain victory when the run game, our lifeblood, could not get going speaks to coaching, play calling, and effort.
I salute our boys, and while I'll have trouble sleeping thinking of what could have been, I feel sorry for Rouse.

A major positive - the defense held Clemson to what ties for their lowest point total of the season. The other team: Florida State. This team, especially the defense, gets better week by week. I think the Seminoles better not look past the boys from the Heights.

The tale of this game was 2-14 from 3rd down and 13 points. Both will not get too many wins in the ACC. The team needs to execute better as they will be the underdog in 3 of the final 5 games and the margin for error just is not there. The lack of a passing game has now cost us 2 games. I'm guessing we will lose two more due to our one dimensional offense. It's frustrating, but we are what we are.

Now, let's hope BC gets back on track at Wake to place us one win away from our remaining goal.

The Atlantic Division hopes (admittedly, they were very, very slim) are dashed. The only thing BC is playing for now is bowl eligibility. But, given that we are the youngest team in the ACC, those extra practices are critical.

To catch a ball, one must have the ability to do so. I guess that some use the term execution to mean having the ability and then successfully using that ability to perform well.

I think the missed PAT was not that big of a deal. I would rather be playing for the end zone than have to count on the kid to make a kick w/ the game on the line.

Now that infamous Jameis has taken care of the Fighting Frauds I hope he gets the boot!

The "drops" my goodness. Florida State looked overpowering in the second half. BC has their hands full in the coming weeks. Addazio did a great job of getting the team prepared. Execution not so much so. Someone needs to keep him away from bridges and tall buildings for a few days. To me, it appeared obvious that on the 3rd and inches pass play that Clemson knew it was coming. They shouldn't have. There were three defenders on Bordner and there was a blitz. BC needs to take a look at if their sideline signals are being compromised.

Execution in football means a player performing his assigned function for that particular play. The better you are allows you to execute more complex plays. The play to Bordner in the first half was the perfect play but failed do do poor execution by Josh, he dropped the ball. I can't get on him too much because this is probably the first time in his long football career that he's had to catch passes. On that play 10 guys executed perfectly. That's why football is different from all other sports. I give Josh credit though he bounced back w/ a great catch in the second half. I think when our talent level improves we will execute better, provided we maintain the same level of intensity that we have now.

i don't think it's such a reach to expect pass there. Clemson knew we would go for it on 4th so it was a pretty good situation to take a shot. I'm pretty sure Beck said something to that affect.

A very entertaining game. Those who attended saw football at it's best. Leaving the stadium , heard a student say he liked that game as much as the USC game. Intense, competitive an outstanding performance. If BC can play even with USC and Clemson, they are a much improved team that can contend with anyone. A&M got killed by Bama. They have lost three straight and beat Arkansas by an inch. Everyone was fooled by their big victory over S. Carolina. BC is better than the majority of teams in the SEC. Last year after 7 games they were 3-4. This year they are 4-3.Last year their four losses were by 76 points. This year their three defeats are by 18 points. Definitely heading in the right direction. The coaches and players deserve kudos.

Thanks for the morning laugh Ned.

I thought BC would only win 4 games this year so everything is gravy from this point on. I am so impressed with the coaching job of Steve Addazio. To take a 2-10 team and get them in a bowl in their first season was a heck of a feat. But to then overcome huge losses to graduation and have the youngest team in the ACC and have them in bowl contention while also playing even with the best teams in the conference.....that is impressive. Thanks, Daz, for making BC football fun again.
