Two BC players headed to NFL Combine and why that matters

Congratulations to Matt Milano and John Johnson. Both received invites to the NFL Combine. This doesn't guarantee that either will be drafted, but the Combine is the best place to generate interest. The guys will be facing the best of the best and get to prove the belong. While this is really about Milano and Johnson, it is also good news for BC. The school can use their success as another thing to sell to recruits. Addazio can say we develop recruits for the next level.

Does anyone remember Milano and Johnson's status as recruits? Milano was 3 star from Florida, but was ignored by the traditional powers in his own state. He did not even receive an offer from Central Florida or South Florida. His only other Power 5 offer was from Arizona. Johnson's offer list was a little better, but he was only rated as a 2 star. And as he mentioned during the bowl game, Johnson was ignored by Maryland despite playing in their backyard. As high schoolers, neither projected as future NFL stars. And although they were recruited by Spaz, most casual fans don't know that. They were part of "Addazio's first Signing Day." He can tell other recruits, "I found these guys and my staff made them better."

Milano and Johnson might not be the only success stories out of this group of BC seniors. BC will have its own Pro Day in March when others on the roster can show their stuff. Good luck to all of them.

Yes, Both recruited by Spaz.

Both committed in july 2012 - well before the name Addazio disgraced the world of Boston College football.

Not Daz guys

Correct.

Happy for both of these guys and definitely rooting for them. But let's be clear: Don Brown made these guys better. And where is he now???? Not at BC.

I appreciate ATLs attempts to find the positive angle in every story, but this is sort of putting lipstick on the pig. Daz is a disaster and recruits and their families know it. Until we get a head football coach that truly embodies the values of our University, we'll successfully recruit the kids who want an excellent education and who also happen to play football. Excellence on the field will merely be a coincidence as long as Daz is at The Heights.

Correct. ATL, we all have the utmost respect for you, but please stop being Daz's water boy. Please join us and admit he has been a disaster for the program.

There were 330 players invited, 2 are from BC and that's reason to celebrate? Are you crazy? There were 2 players invited from Eastern Washington, 2 from Memphis, 2 from Ohio, 4 from San Diego State, 4 from Temple, 2 from Tennessee State, 2 from UTC, 3 from Toledo and 2 from Youngstown State.

2 BC players being invited is just further proof they have a terrible football program.

Which college did you graduate from Yeaster?

Craig Yeaster said...

You already know the answer to that one knucks.

No, I don't.

Craig Yeaster said...

UNC undergrad.

Georgia Eagle said...

Knucklehead, remember ATL's advice to just ignore the trolls and eventually they will go away.

Craig Yeaster said...

Is that kind of like how BC ignores trying to put together competitive football and basketball teams?

knucklehead said...

Implies graduate school. Where did you go, for what and did you graduate?

Craig Yeaster said...

Duke for grad school and yes I graduated. Also Stephen M. Ross MBA in case you are keeping track.

knucklehead said...

What is Stephen M. Ross MBA?

Bravesbill said...

Well SDSU and Temple do have better programs currently than BC does...even though Daz tried his best to tank one of those programs. It is pretty pathetic that BC has as many players invited as multiple FCS schools.

CT is correct. We suck. His school, on the other hand, inspite of its behind the scenes lobbying, might well get the equivalent of the death penalty from the NCAA.

We suck, but hopefully will rebound someday. UNC is a program of crooks, which may never be lived down.

CY is correct - hate autocorrect.

Fourteen seniors and two invites is not bad. Landry took himself off the market.

knucklehead said...

I would pay to see Mitch Trubiskypoos wonderlic score. He looks like a genious.

CT said...

Solid ethics at UNC. Very very solid. Will we hear from the trolls when those sanctions come down? You don't win even after cheating. What will happen when they have 11 schollies to issue? Pretty sure we won't waste our time wading in their disappointment. I mean. Come on. Any adults on here anymore?

This is on ATL.

Knucks, it's an MBA from University of Michigan, the Ross School.

knucklehead said...

What did you go to Duke for?

Craig Yeaster said...

Biological Sciences.

knucklehead said...

So what made you go from biology in North Carolina to business school in Michigan?

Craig Yeaster said...

Ross has a great MBA program and I knew it would help me with my career.

knucklehead said...

biology itself wasn't working out for you?

Tony Abardo said...

Let's get back on topic here. The bottom line is that the BC football program is a joke.

And also, the beanpot is meaningless.

knuck1ehead said...

I agree. The BC football program is terrible.

And we should ignore trolls such as Georgia Eagle.

Craig Yeaster said...

Biology has worked out great for me. Partnered with an MBA it has worked out even better! Thanks for caring knucks.

GE. Excellent point that knucklehead chooses to ignore. Dick head. I wonder if Knuckle's new "friends" Craig n tony were created by him. The whole interaction is off putting and creepy.

Max said...

I feel so much ..... joy that Craig Yeaster's life is working out according to what degrees he has obtained. Congrats. Keep in mind the best plains of mice and men. life will always kick you in the nuts. One way or another.

Tony Abardo said...

Best laid plains? Oh boy. Another BC educated person I assume?

Max said...

Fu tonie

Georgia Eagle said...

Max, buddy. You are playing right into the BC hating trolls hands. Listen to ATL and ignore them.ATL, you have given these bomb throwers every chance. Now BAN them !

Knucklehead said...

It is obvious that Yeaster wanted to go to medical school but couldn't get in even with his post grad work at Duke so next best thing is second rate business school.

Knucklehead said...

Mod,
If anyone here was going create a bunch of fake names and harass people on here it would be you. You literally haven't said a positive word about BC sports in 10 years.

I remember the Ryan Day years. Obsessive and bizarre.

Bravesbill said...

Boy do those years look good in retrospect

Georgia Eagle said...

Does anyone see a bright future? If so, please tell me.

mod34b said...

Knucklehead. So nice that you are keeping your friends"tony" and Craig " happy. Do they live in the basement with you?

Craig Yeaster said...

No mod, the three of us share a studio apartment together you moron.

Knucklehead said...

Hhaha. Mod. Always sniveling.
