BC Basketball actively looking for transfers

I don't think it is a stretch to say Jim Christian is on the hot seat next year. He hasn't won and there will be a new AD eventually. However, he and his staff are still recruiting for the long term. In addition to potential freshmen, they are also active on the transfer scene. One potential target is Bryant's Nisre Zouzoua. We are not the only ones who see his Power 5 conference potential.
Because he is a traditional transfer, Zouzoua would have to sit a year. Considering the immediate pressure Christian is under, I am glad they are still looking at long-term prospects. It might not be enough for them to turn things around, but it will hopefully make for a smoother rebuild for the next coach.

Of course Christian's status makes recruiting that much more difficult. It will be interesting to see if things even progress with Zouzoua. It will also be interesting to see if Christian and crew jump on any immediate fixes via 5th years.

I would prefer this headline

"BC Basketball actively looking for New Head Coach"

6-48 in league play is his ticket outta here

I think that's a 0.111 winning percentage! Gee - our WBB coach Erik Johnson looks pretty good at 12-55 in league play with a winning percentage of 0.179. And both received contract extensions. We have been run by idiots.

In other news, it looks like the baseball team has fallen off a cliff as well. This sports year will be even worse than last year, which I didn't think was possible.

Well Basketball and Football both had more conference wins so saying this year is worse than last is literally impossible. Sorry.

Jeremy--But the hockey team was pretty bad and failed to make the tournament. The baseball team will fail to make the tournament. Basketball failed to make the tournament just like last year. And football made a crappy bowl which is the only improvement from last year.

The hockey team was picked to finish 6th in Hockey East. It tied for first. It went to the championship game in the conference tournament. A year after losing 6 or 7 players early (the team had no juniors so senior night next year will be pretty quick), you'd expect a bit of an off year by our standards. Yes, we missed the NCAA's this year. By BC standards, that's a bad year. But I think baseball, basketball and football would gladly have such an off year.

BC91--All true, but my point was that this year's team was worse than last year's team.

Bill, you're certainly spot on there. Let's hope for a better year next year.

The level of hope begins with the expectation that Leahy hires an experienced much improved no nonsense AD focused on the restoration of highly competitive athletics at BC. If he hires somebody like Paquette from the depths of the Patriot League - there won't be a lot of hope. So right now my first hope is that he makes Parker earn their search fee.

Danny Hurley would be an excellent choice for BC hoops coach, and keep Spinelli for recruiting. Christian should get more out of his players. After a decent start to ACC season, It looked like 4 wins was likely, and 6-7 wins was a possibility. They fell off a cliff and many of losses were not competitive. Better than last year, but that's not saying much.

I suspect he will get another year, unless new AD is hired very soon, as there will be limited time left to conduct a coaching search.
