Wade had his best game yet and look very good passing out of bootlegs. He also spread the ball around. Dillon was dominant again.
The D allowed a lot of yardage against a quick strike Syracuse team. However, they got the turnovers and stops they needed during the game.
I did a quick Periscope to capture an uneventful game. I might do another Periscope Sunday night when the bowl picture becomes more clear.
BC beats Syracuse. Post game Periscope https://t.co/sLyA7eN2qj— Bill Maloney (@bcatleagle) November 25, 2017

Sadly, the Dazzler returns. He is a mediocre coach. If it wasn't for the BB three year extension, he would have been gone a long time ago. He will never take BC to the next level. Wade is a mediocre quarterback and is now gone. Perry is even worse. With good coaching, McDonald could be a good qb. AB is very good but reports are being doctored about the extent of his injury. So, what's up with that? ----This was a "non contact injury" and evidently occurred in practice. BC is dancing around because of a possible liability suit. Sadly if Brown was smart, he would go to one of the big programs like Michigan and sit out a year to rehab.
Damn, JBQ. That's a pretty grim analysis. But I do agree with you about Daz.
I am not a big fan of Daz but the team did well down the stretch and probably could have done even better if they leveraged Dillon earlier in the season.
Say what you want about Daz but the kids play hard for him and he did show progress over last year with 4 ACC wins and a 7-5 record (could improve to 8-5 with a bowl win). I really do think this last game was stay or go for Daz and it was a convincing win so it looks like he will get another season to either progress or regress.
I reluctantly agree.
ATL season prediction “what will happen” pretty good
“
This leaves BC 7-5 (3-5 in the ACC). BC goes to the St. Petersburg Bowl and plays USF. Although it is a quasi-home game for them, we dominate and finish 8-5. It is not another 7-6 season, but it will sure feel like it.”
As far as I can figure, if we get invited to NY, we’ll play Michigan or Iowa. Why do some predictions show Akron? The Big 10 has enough bowl eligible teams...
Akron would be a major disappointment. Why does the college football world still have such a low opinion of BC when we have one of the hottest teams in the country? Answer: BC doesn't bring fans.
We just made Syracuse into a joke. Losers. It will be a Big 10 team in the Pinstripe Bowl and a win will have us in the pre-season, '18, Top 25. Looking good.
Check out Anthony Brown's super positive BC football tweet this morning. (especially vis-a-vis JBQ's bleak analysis.)
Last four years on rivalry week ( last week of the season) four ACC teams play four SEC teams. The record over those four years is ACC 13 wins the SEC 3. Discount all the media hype about the SEC's superiority or dominance it is just propaganda. 2. Wade played a great game. He looked like Jo Montana. 240 yards with 12 yards per attempt. Over the second half of the year BC outscored their foes on average 35 to 16. They looked like a top 25 team. If they can marry 200 passing yards with their great running attack featuring Dillon they will have a very potent offense. The coaches and players deserve credit. Hope this is a harbinger for next year,3. The Bama and ND QBs are quality running backs but neither can pass. Passing is the most vital aspect of a QB. Wade's performance showed that. With the Cuse, Rutgers, Pitt and Maryland having losing records BC is the top program in the Northeast. Recruiting against your regional rivals should be facilitated. The national media will tell you that this area is not a rich source of football talent But who are the top two freshmen RBs in the nation? Dillon from the Nutmeg state and the Wisconsin freshman from Jersey. So much for the experts.
I’m afraid ND losing cost us the Pinstripe. Another reason to dislike them. It definitely destroyed any chance at the Sun Bowl.
Solid and satisfying win yesterday against a true nemesis in years past.
In hoop action, Providence over BC by 20.
Congratulations to the BC Football Program - players, team, coaches and staff.
Thank you for this turnaround and for the optimistic outlook for the future.
I knew we had talented players and I'm thankful that we gave them game plans to be successful as the season progressed. When a team continues to improve as the season goes on, it's the Hallmark of a team with a can-do attitude.
I'm once again proud of our team and Boston College
Basketball was taught a lesson and needs to take a page from the football team's book. Keep striving, keep trying and hopefully good things will come as the season progresses.
Go BC!
bowl projections are all over the map
BC v Middle Tennessee in Shreveport
BC v Navy in Military Bowl
BC v Iowa in Pinstrip
BC v. UCLA Shreveport
i agree ND's lose 5o Stanford knocked them from January old to an ACC December bowl - lowering BC in the pecking order
* i agree ND's lose to Stanford knocked them from a January bowl to an ACC December bowl - lowering BC in the pecking order
Eagle Esq - I agree about ND and wish that we could play them again. They look like a team that gets discouraged and has no guts when the going gets tough.
Pinstripe against the Big Ten would be our best hope at this point, but what do I know, in light of ND's failure.
I hope the ACC doesn't send its arguably hottest team to Shrevesport or Detroit.
Off topic: Todd Graham at Arizona State got canned today. He was at the school for 6 years. He was 46-31 and went to 4 bowl games. He was 7-5 this year after winning the rivalry game against Arizona, so that would have been 5 bowl games. He was 6-3 in the Pac-12 this year. His buyout is estimated to be at least $11 million.
Um, how often has ASU been in the mix for major bowl games? This guy seemed like he won on a regular basis and was competitive in his conference. Addazio has been here 5 years. Right now, he's one game under .500 with a less than stellar conference record (this year has been a pleasant surprise). We'll surely give him another year and I think we should. The team has shown real progress.
And Texas A&M fired Kevin Sumlin for going 51-26 over 6 seasons. 8.5 wins per season isn't good enough. Wow. $10.4 million buyout.
I still like BC for the Pinstripe. Team is hot and it is the best team in the Northeast. TV ratings should be good and a reasonable number of BC fans will travel to NYC.
Plus I also think ND still gets into a New Year’s six game. They are 9-3 and ranked at 15 which will make them a more attractive pick than some of the other teams in that same range. I predict that ND goes to the Cotton Bowl against Penn State. If they had beat Stanford they would have been in the Orange Bowl but “slipping” for ND just means a slight drop to the Cotton.
Get "Rites of Autumn" DVD and Book Both are great on college football.
Volume one DVD nice piece on "Miracle in Miami" Interview with offensive lineman
Steve Trapillo,
Women's Basketball coach is a loser couldn't beat BU is he kidding.
NED and STL:
Penn State is the top team in the northeast, not BC. Penn State is ranked #9 and is 10-2.
Tim is correct.
But Penn State thinks they are in Ohio. 🙂
Jack. There is no state PSU hates more than Ohio
You may have heard of a school called OSU?
Yeah, but do they really consider themselves as part of Northeast football?
Anyway, I'm proud of BC, much more than Happy Valley, Western PA, middle of nowhere. 🙂
Now that Schiano is out and Mullen is going back to Florida, I think it would be a smart move for Tennessee to consider other former Meyer assistants with college head coaching experience....not that I am begging them or anything...
Well Penn State won the Lambert trophy for best football the East 30 times
1947, 1961, 1962, 1964, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1981, 1982, 1985, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2016
BC won 5 times
Jack, you are real Boston homer, where provincialism is king. . ha! PA is an EAST COAST STATE!
BCeagle, yes, reluctantly, Tenn may need to come in a scoop up Daz... just nothing we can do..... however he did say BC was his dream job and he might luv Boston as much as homer Jack.

I read that the BIG 10 asks each bowl affiliate to submit their preferences, but then it's the conference themselves who decide where to place each team. Perhaps this would be better for BC if the ACC did the same. BC will never be high on anyone's wish list (except maybe the Pinstripe?), so it might be a more equitable way to showcase the talent present in the conference that isn't at a blue chip program. Sucks that in a year like FSU has had, they will still jump us.
Despite the risk of bad weather , the Pinstripe is in nyc.
Great chance for all the BC ALUM in NYC to watch them.
BC Penn State game had highest attendance.
No one is going to Detroit or Louisiana.
NYC is the best spot. For BC
Mod - I should have added the word "anymore" after ......do they really consider themselves as part of Northeast football (since joining the B$G.) I know their dominance over the years. I keep forgetting that they are still part of the Lambert trophy.
If We get disrespected and dropped to a lesser bowl against a less than ideal opponent (quite possible) - hopefully THIS TEAM and the returning players will use the disappointment as motivation to do better next season.
And to roll over our opponent in the Whatever Bowl.
I'm personally still hoping for NYC, although I'll be in Hawaii. ☺️
Go BC.
I plead guilty to being a homer, although I haven't lived in Boston for 16 years - and live near Athens GA now.
And I'll never get rid of my accent, so everyone knows where I'm from.
The Hub of the Universe! 😀
Tim....I agree that Pennsylvania is in the Northeast and that Penn State is the best team but since they should get a spot in a New Year’s Six Bowl I did not consider them a candidate for the Pinstripe and believe that BC is the best Northeast candidate should the Pinstripe decide that they want a Northeast team.
Most of the tier 2 and tier 3 bowls like to have a regional team playing against a team with some name recognition and a large fan base. This could help BC since they are a better fit for NYC geographically than Florida State who should really stay south at the Independence Bowl after their weak performance.
That said, I am not holding my breath since Notre Dame could easily bump BC down by taking one of the ACC tier 1 bowls and Florida State could easily jump BC in the pecking order based on name recognition.
I don’t see BC making a return trip to the Quick Lane given the recent visits. That honor will likely go to Duke.
DAZ to Tenn.....I'm certain it would be his "dream job". We can only hope.
