Basketball gets early wake up call from IUPUI

There is no beating around the bush, BC had a horrible home loss Wednesday night to IUPUI. This is not uncommon for BC basketball over the last ten years and unfortunately it is all too common during the Jim Christian era. Yes we lost a lottery pick, but there is enough incoming and remaining talent that this shouldn't happen.

This wasn't some flukey game where we a mid-major got lucky with a bunch of 3s. This was just a disjointed BC team that didn't shoot particularly well, missed ten foul shots, didn't play smart D and turned the ball over.

I know it is early and the staff is working in the young players, but does this team look as talented as it is rated? Or as talented as it should be at this point in Christian's tenure?

I know Martin Jarmond has been able to spearhead a lot of fun initiatives as AD, but lurking near is a coaching change. If Christian can't get more out of his team, then the change will come soon.

Unfortunately watched 80% of that tonight. Pathetic. Was at the St Francis "win" on Sunday. Only difference being that St Francis wasn't ruthless enough.

BC should stay away from any team with Purdue in its name.

After that, Jaramond be like “I got 99 problems and Daz ain’t one.” Ugh.

Daz didn't lose to Holy Cross or UMass. Christian is a somewhat more urgent matter - but he has the rest of the season to prove himself beyond a first round exit in the NIT. Our men's basketball team, however, has done a fine job educating us on the college landscape such that if you ever talk to a high school kid contemplating Saint Leo's you can ask if they ever considered applying to Nicholls State or IUPUI.

Tough to be a BC fan - it's basically detrimental to one's health.

IT IS TIME FOR JARED , DANYA and Company. IT is LONG PAST TIME FOR JIM TO GO.
WE SHOULD regularly compete for spots 4-6 in ACC and occasionally 3.

LONG PAST TIME TO STOP LOSING . LEAHY and Other ATHLETIC abominators should also
depart.
We need a Jesuit cut from the cloth of Father J. Donald Monan SJ who made
BC an academic powerhouse and was also making it into an athletic one.

A truly embarrassing loss. Tabbs looks pretty decent but no returning players have made any improvements at all. Chatman is still wildly inconsistent. Bowman has been invisible for long stretches. Popovic is still getting dominated by smaller big men.

@Edward Griffith" Christian is "digging his own grave". Jarmond needs a scalp and it will be "Natty Bumppo". --- As for the Jesuits, there aren't any. There is no one to replace Leahy. Just like at Gonzaga, there will be a non priest president. Father Monan was great to be sure. However, just look at the "homeless rejects" who now control the Jesuit order. There is no Isaac Jogues who "lost his fingers" in upstate New York and then came back from rehabbing in France to literally "lose his heart".---

There is the strange mouse reference again. Always fun to read a Rutgers supporters' thoughts about an AD he doesn't like. You didn't say you didn't like him . . . . Mickey Mouse semantics.

Women’s hoops, on the other hand, is showing signs of life. They are 3-0, averaging about 89 points of offense per game. Last year they went 2-1 in their first three games and averaged only about 59 points per game. It’s still early, but that’s a big jump in offensive productivity.

I watched the BC women's bb with HC down two at end of first BC won 89-53.
It is very definitely way UP-Tempo for Coach Mac's troops No Seniors ,Two Juniors and
two sophs the remainder all frosh.
In attendance Marvin Jarmond. Trip to Houston Sunday and following weekend in
Philly will tell a lot more.
Hopefully he will soon do the same for men's bb and turn things over to
Jared, Danya and Company and watch our Eagles fly "FOR BOSTON"

On a previous post , someone stated that another win and possibly two wins by Addazio would generate an extension !!!!! For what possible reason ?? - he has two years remaining , with a good chance next year to have a terrible season. He is losing many players with speed and a good portion of a very good defense. Are there people on this Board that would support an extension ???? OMG , please !!!! Do fans on this Board worry that another school will court his services ???? RIGHT and there is a Santa Claus !!! Who gave Christian an extension and if so why ???? I am not following BC sports only randomly having surrendered my season tickets 3 years ago, so I do not keep up with the sports happenings at the Heights. Christian may be a nice guy , but BC is not heading in the proper direction. Totally surprised to read on this Board that they lost to that powerhouse Indiana/ Purdue !!!! Have a nice Thanksgiving and relax , since BC will bury Florida State and if NOT ---- WELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!
