Surprise, surprise, Texas A&M won't be coming to Boston next year

Texas A&M Basketball Coach Billy Kennedy announced that his team won't be travelling to Boston next year for the scheduled home and home. Basketball coaches usually have control over their schedules, so I could see why Kennedy thinks this, but we have no official word from Texas A&M. They are under contract, so the AD might have to weigh in on if the series is actually off.  If they do cancel, I hope our penalty matches their $100,000.

What's interesting is BC and Martin Jarmond are defending their position on social media. They care what is being said and how this is being perceived. I imagine no one wants to play this series now but saving face and money is the priority.

With all this nonsense you know this means the two teams will end up playing each other in the postseason somewhere...or we will end up against Texas A&M in a bowl game soon.

Billy Kennedy is an insufferably stupid asshole - move on.

Ha- we're gonna play Texas A&M in a bowl game soon? We are in the lowest of the lowest ACC Bowls. Even though we beat some of the teams going to better bowls, BC was still passed over.

If by "soon" you mean between now and 2050 - then maybe. If you mean between now and 2023, then you are delusional.

Yeah, it will be huge when they play each other in the CBI Basketball Tournament this year.

Don't be surprised if JDF, son of GDF, is next OC.....would be fitting for Daz to turn in that direction after last night's thrilling result.....

BC has joined Georgetown in becoming a national school.

BC BASKETBALL NEEDS A Facility for basketball only that men and women can share.
Basketball has nation wide interest and the teams should be practicing on their home
court not in some side gym.
Using Conte Forum basically for games only is quite unacceptable .
GO BC DO IT FOR BOSTON

Now that’s funny.

Guess this blog can put down their buyout checkbooks.

With all of the "smoke and mirrors" coming from both sides, just what is the true story on the A&M issue. I don't believe either fable. It is like something out of Hans "Christian" Anderson.

Huge mistake by Jarmond. Now when he fires him after next season, he will owe 6 million instead of 2 million. That is 4 million that cannot be invested in a new coach or quality assistants. This is very bad, folks. Get ready for a multi-year slide and rebuild. It could be 5 years before we see 8 wins again.

I’ve been done with this program since the Wake game in 15, so really don’t give a shit. Give Daz ten years for all I care.

I think I'm going to barf.

Lenny Sienko said...

OMG what is Jarmond thinking? Your rationale is that this will make it easier to buy out DAZ??

I can't believe they would not only not fire DAZ; but give him an extension???

Please tell me this is a cruel joke.

Let this sink in:

Alison Foley led BC women's soccer to 15 NCAA berths, including 11 consecutive. Under her watch, the team has been to eight Sweet 16s, three Elite Eights and the 2010 College Cup. She finishes her BC career with an overall record of 280-145-39.

The Eagles started the year by winning 10 consecutive games, the longest winning streak to start a season in school history and tied the program record for consecutive wins in a season. The only other BC squad to win 10 straight was the 1983 team.

Among the 10 straight victories to open the season was a 2-1 victory over eventual national champion Florida State.

She "resigned" yesterday....

I am hoping this is a bad dream. Why do we have to drive the car COMPLETELY into the ditch before we change drivers? There is no way this team progresses, gets to 8 wins in regular season, etc. as long as present coach remains. If AJ is smart, he will get out of there before coach destroys his body and chances of a pro career. When we finally bottom out at 4-8 in a couple of years time, we will make a change. Incredibly discouraging.

Bo Pelini had some conduct issues, but Nebraska fired him after going 67-27 in 7 full seasons (he didn't coach the bowl game his last year). He won 9 or 10 games every year. Addazio would get a statue from Jarmond if he won 9 games once. Looks like a couple of more years of beating lousy out of conference opponents, beating a couple of weak ACC teams and grabbing one more win to be bowl eligible. And we'll get a bowl game on a crappy date/time/location and lose. Lather, rinse, repeat. And fork over $2.5 million a year for it. Jarmond might get some pointed questions as the capital campaign marches on.

What do you people expect? Leahy, an ultra-leftist hires with little interest in sports hires an unqualified affirmative action quota with zero leadership skills. This is the result.

Sorry for the bad Syntex. I'm furious

Extending Daz shows poor judgment by Jarmond and Leahy. So what else is new? We are BC - Dumb and Proud of it.

Eagle Esquire said...

BC simply doesn’t care about running a program that is beyond mediocre. The question I’m now asking myself is why I even care.

I started watching in 98 when things were better (not a million times better but better) and then I saw the improvement that peaked in 07. I keep expecting things to fall back toward the perceived norm. Problem is that will never happen with the current decision makers at the Heights.

TGS loves Dazzler. He has loved Dazzler since he saw him blow his first big call on the goalline against Wake in 2015. What a boner TGS thought to himself? He hasn't been able to shake the thrill ever since.

Ge has got to be the lowest, stupidest sort of scum that ever infected the Heights. How in any sort of rational moment can he, or anyone else, think that political thought has anything to do with BC athletics. Left, right or middle. Black, white, brown or green. It doesn't matter asshole. Leahy and his political views have nothing to do with it. It is all in your fucking diseased racist nasty mind. Your feeble minded reply will be coupled with more delusional crap about peoples politics and have nothing to do with reason since that is beyond your ability. We'll hear more "comrade" bullshit and more "Commie" bullshit and more cuba bullshit along with your redneck racist, narrow minded rants. You and your hate are a disgrace to BC and all it stands for. You are truly a sorry disgusting mess of a human.

Lots of fuck talk from Mod again. The exclamation point lets everyone know the pure lust factor Mod has for Dazzler. Even to the point that Dazzler seems to have supplanted Ryan Day as the number 1.

FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bottom line is Jarmond couldn't get anyone to take the OC job because Dazzler was seemingly on his last season here. If the coach is on the way out it is open season to poach the decent components of the coaching staff. He cannot afford to lose Campanalie the NJ recruiter or any other assistants.

Anyone know what the buyout clause says? It is probably a half season of pay given circumstances. Two year extension is weak. Helton, Heupel and Campbell were all extended to 2023-2024. Even if they had 3 years left from now(probably 1-2 inreality) that is a 3 year extension 2021-2023/24.

Dazzler got a two year extension retards. You can stop fucking and throwing up over it now. He is getting canned next season if goes this way again. Regardless of whether or not Dillons' ankle allows him to play next season.

Although Dazzler does have another excuse next season, he had a new OC.

The defense is going to be horrible next season though so look for 6 regular season wins and a canned Dazzler.

The genius brigade here led by CTeee the super tone and his band of assclowns, TGS and Mod all missed it . . . The quotes around "Christian" in the JBQ post.

You missed it too Joseph and the amazing multicolored dream coat. You missed it too.

Geezer eagle said...

The real question, Knucklehead, is why Dazoshit is still here? The entire BC community ( even Joey) knows Dazoshit is a disaterous coach and should have been canned this year. ( Everyone except Jarmond the Mouse.)

Georgia, he has stabilized the program. That is a positive. He has stabilized it to the point where people who are concerned about winning and losing and not his personality or how he looks are pissed we didnt get 8 regular season wins. That is a plus.

The negative and it is the key to his success is that he predetermines who he thinks he can beat and who he thinks he canmot beat and then coaches the game conservatively or agressively. The players should not have to adjust to that. It is the reason for most of his loses.

Geezer eagle said...

Interesting theory.

Surprise, surprise as Gomer Pyle would say. Look at the top ten school fight songs. The top ten are" Bama-Colorado-Tennessee-Texas-Arkansas-A&M-Oklahoma-Michigan-USC-The French School in South Bend---------------------Just where do you see BC? I would have to say that there was a great deal of animosity developed by "the mouse" toward A&M for him to react like he did. I do not know who was at fault. However, the vindictiveness on both sides is plain. It is "red neck heaven" versus "Barry's paradise".----Even the anti abortion parade has split in Texas between left wing Catholics and right wing Protestants. BC could have been lots more patient and then told them to screw off. Instead, it was obvious that the mouse was looking for a fight with the red headed friar with the turned around collar handing him his ammunition.----Notre Dame is handling the sociological war in big time sports very well thank you. BC is on the verge of not only fumbling the issue but drowning in the reservoir next to the campus. Instead of fashioning an international vision, the administration is falling into the sociological gutter where the "tail is wagging the dog".
