Looks like Va Tech has been watching some film. Our pass defense is horrible.
just an atrocious first drive for the defense. embarrassing.

Great offensive scheme by Va Tech. Our defense has been vulnerable to the pass all season. The only reason USC lost to us is because they were stupid and went away from the pass.
I don't like the feel of November for this team. Bowl eligibility is going to come down to the Syracuse game and that makes me extremely uncomfortable given our history with them.
Boy, I know everyone loves Murphy but his stats on 3rd down are horrific. He just can't lead the offense to convert 3rd downs.
OK, if we don't at least get a field goal here, I'm going to be irate.

On a cold, rainy day, on the road, no one ever looks back and regrets blowing amazing field position with back to back false starts...
That drive was killed by the penalties. Should not be doing that this late in the season.

This is sort of what I expected. We need to stick to the run and zone reads with Murphy. We cannot beat them through the air.

Hilliman should have cut it inside on the 1st down and I think he could have netted a few yards instead of losing 1.
Hilliman looks so tentative. He slows down going into the hole and loses all of his momentum. He's wasting one of his best tools.

I feel a little better but we have had great field position and have only come up with 7 points. The defense is going to have to defend a shorter field which means Tech will be able to open it up more.

BC is making way too many mistakes to win today. The drive killing penalties, poor kickoff coverage and missed assignments in the passing game are fixable, but they better start executing.

Tech probably wishes they had their timeouts. With us pinned so deep, they could get the ball back with great field position and plenty of time.

OK, we just played one of the worst 1st halves of the year and we are up by 4. Lots of correctable mistakes. Defense had one bad drive and then played lights out. Offense left a lot of points on the field. If they can step up their play, I think BC can get this critical road win.
I want to see less Hilliman and more Willis in the 3rd quarter.
I'd like to see BC start running a real option, even a triple option. Get both Hilliman and Willis/Alston out there. Maximize your weapons.

The big problem here is Va Tech is 2 scores from taking the lead. Our offense needed a TD on that drive.
Offense inside the 10 is way too predictable esp the first down runs up the middle.

This season is such a shame since we have lost 2 and are on the verge of a 3rd because we present zero passing threat. I really feel if this goes down as a loss, we are looking at 0 for November. This team has to somehow find a way to win this game or the season is toast.
The coordinators esp Brown learn nothing game to game and make the same stupid moves in the 4th quarter.

Go BC - beat Louisville.
You have to hold your nose at the end of the game over the kicking game. A 21 yd punt albeit against the wind is bad. Both d ends were completely undisciplined and did not hold their positions. Time and again, Brewer spun outside past the ends to "live another day". Florida State will absolutely eat the ends alive. The d played well. Bordner blocked well but he can't catch a lick without the gloves. Once again, Murphy saved the day. Contrats to the "surfer".
Let's hope Murphy can heal up this week. Big home test next week, but I think we can beat Louisville.
Any time you leave lane stadium with a win, it's a good win.

If we have a Crane or a Hasselbeck at qb today, they would have shredded that defense and made them pay for crowding the line.

Murphy had to pull out a miracle with his legs to get the win today. Absolutely cannot play like that over the next two games or we will get blown out.
eagleboston - teams load the box against BC because we can't/don't pass. if we had a QB who could pass, and we did pass successfully, they would not stuff 10 in the box. So if Crane were our QB, VT would not have had 10 in the box. Capice.
