Ohliger finally connects on kick (allegedly)

This is what we know: Ryan Ohliger has been suspended indefinitely from the team.

This is pure rumor: he supposedly got heckled at a local bar and sparked a fight which ended with him kicking a BC student in the face. Now the full details will never get out, but it looks like one fan finally forced TOB to do what thousands of fans have been calling for – putting Ohliger on the bench.

Now BC goes from using a headcase who couldn't make an extra point to complete unknowns. There are walkons in the mix and I am sure Flutie will get a look.

My fear is that Ohliger, despite his huge mental hiccups, was the best we had. If we had someone who could make PATs and haven't been using him, than shame on TOB.

BC has been without a kicker for three years. Now it is official. Look for plenty of 4th down attempts in FG range, 2-point conversion attempts after TDs and urges to puke from me.

We're lucky he has only cost us one game. Kickoffs will suffer but things can't get worse.

Why didn't we break-in a kicker during the Maine game? Isn't that's why they are on the sked - to get an easy W and work-out some kinks?

Stupid and brutal decision by the coaching staff. Ohliger wasn't working out. He didn't work out last year. It was inevitable that his self-destruction on the field would manifest elsewhere, and here it is.

This one lies on the coaches for a lack of preparation and a failure to recognize the results on the ground (unfortunately, the preceeding qualifies TOB to run for president, but that's a discussion for another board). I was afraid his stubborness would cause the players to lose faith in him and maybe that's beginning to show. Now its up to the seniors to bring the squad together and get ready for V-Tech with a rookie f'n kicker. Unbelievable.

Wasn't April Fool's Day 6 months ago?

As I've said earlier today, I'd much rather be 5-10 yards shorter on the kickoffs than 5-10 yards left on the extra points.

No way of knowing, for what it's worth he does turn 21 in about 3 weeks. Not sure if that makes the underage drinking side of the story better ("Eh, he's ALMOST 21") or worse ("You couldn't wait 3 fucking weeks you fucking moron???").
