I haven't listened to the audio yet but I have seen it on the Devils website before. However, Mottau was in Lowell, the Devils AHL affiliate, last year after missing the first half of the season with a broken neck. The injury was the result of a hit by a teammate in camp last year and it cost Mottau a legitimate chance to make the team. He had every right to be mad at the world and pack it in. Instead, he sat there and watched his Lowell teammates every game. When he did eventually come back, he lit a fire under the team and they went from next to last place to narrowly missing the playoffs. He was the best player in Lowell for the last 2 months of the season. On top of all that, I got to talk to him a few times at games and other STH events and he is the nicest guy you could ever meet. I am really really happy for him that he made it back to the NHL. I am going to NJ for the opening of the Prudential Center this weekend (after going to VT on Thursday) and I can't wait to give Mottau a round of applause. Nice link ATL. Every BC fan should be rooting for this guy.
