Sunday night thoughts and links

We've now moved into the No. 2 slot in the BCS due to solid support in both polls and the computers now favoring us. The shift in the computers is partially due to some of our past opponents winning but also some of the previous computer favs losing (Kentucky, South Carolina). I'll repeat my mantra -- just keep winning. If we win, everything will take care of itself.

In addition to getting a bump from the computers, we also got some help within the Atlantic division. Maryland and Florida State put themselves in holes with conference losses. Notice Wake is still breathing right down our neck.

This is a little sobering -- road teams have really struggled on Thursday nights.

The lines opened up with Virginia Tech as a 2.5 favorite.

Here is a clip of Ryan on Rome Is Burning last Friday. (Thanks to Pat P. for the link.)

I'm officially breaking up with ESPN's Sports Guy, Bill Simmons, fyi. This is what is wrong with the Boston media. I don't need any more BC apologists. :(

"(Speaking of fan bases, the fans from a certain New England college are outraged that I refuse to acknowledge a particular undefeated college season that's happening right now and resulted in an especially high ranking last weekend. And you know what? You're right. I need to be the bigger man here. So let's acknowledge it ... congratulations to the Tufts Jumbos on your 4-0 start!)"

Great move by Matt Ryan and the BC Sports Information office to get on Rome Is Burning. Awesome to have the Jungle Karma going into our game against Va Tech. Rome's karma is scientifically proven.
