Starting Lineup
The starters were Rice, Sanders, Roche, Spears and Blair. I don't know if that will be our first five for the next few weeks or not. Oates is injured but did play. He has never been as productive as Blair, so maybe Al is coming around.
How did they play?
Reports were Rice looked flat and sat for long stretches. Sanders looked very good. Roche was hot early and Spears was hot late. The game was close with eight minutes left, but BC eventually pulled away.
Freshman report
As mentioned above, Sanders started and played well. Southern, Paris and Raji all played more than 15 minutes. Second hand reports say Southern looked raw and Raji flailed around a bit. Paris looked solid once he got settled in.
What should we make of this?
Outside of the who looks to be starting, not much. The early season games that actually count will be a better indicator of the season and the team's potential.

Sanders looked very promising -- has the Marshall bodytype, but will end up being a better and hopefully more consistent scorer. Who knows if he will be committed defensively yet, but he has a nose for the basket on the offensive end.
I used the word raw to describe Southern also. He looks like he will develop into a solid rebounder at some point, but also looks to be another clueless big man on the offensive end. Hopefully he will be able to keep up defensively. An item for concern yesterday was the fact that Southern, Oates and Blair all had 4 fouls yesterday, and this team that we played has ABSOLUTELY NO inside presence.
Paris looked like he could develop into something nice. He appeared to play within himself and confidently by the end. He and Tyrese look a look alike on the court as far as body type, but Paris looks like he may be more of a Hinnant type producer. He may no have the flair of Tryese, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. As far as Tyrese.... well I'm not really worried that he didn't play well.
Oates is Oates, I was surprised he was the fourth man off of the bench, but I guess you mentioned an injury. And Blair is still Blair.
Dunn looked out of it and tentative for his limited time, and doesnt appear to be a factor.
Roche looked more confident pulling the trigger, but is still relatively weak inside. He kept up fine defensively, but that may have been because of the opposition.
Kaba looks lost. He can't handle the ball, and doesn't seem to fit on this team. I predict that he will be the next transfer.
I could get no read on Raji at all. He didn't do anything to impress, but I'd like to see more minutes from him.
As far as Spears, well our season really hinges on him. If he can be a strong presence inside on offense and pull in 7 boards a game, we will be decent. But if he disappears on offense against stiffer competition, Rice and Sanders are going to have a really, really difficult time getting open looks.
