Opponent previews and deja vu links

Here is a look at North Carolina. Cirminiello thinks they are a bowl team. I think they will be a sleeper within the ACC and one of our tougher games.

Cirminiello also took his microscope to Wake Forest and predicts good things for them too.

Arthur Fontaine is down to four schools: BC, UVA, UGA and Maryland. He seems really high on the Dawgs. Reading the tea leaves, it seems like it is down to BC and Georgia.

As for deja vu: another story on Reynolds and another story on that mentions recruit Koehne.

I think we'll have to earn every victory this year for sure.

Georgia Tech 9/6
@NC State 10/4
Virginia Tech 10/18
@UNC 10/25
Clemson 11/1
Notre Dame 11/8
@Florida State 11/15
@Wake Forest 11/22
Maryland 11/29

Show me a guaranteed win there! We have lost at Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Winston Salem during our last visits to those schools. I was at all three losses. I don't expect the three games in the state of North Carolina to be anything but very tough again this year. UNC will be a very worthy foe this year.

Here's the good news - we can beat them all. Realistically, another 5 wins 3 losses in the ACC would be a very good outcome this year. Kent State should be a good indication because it's our first game - we have many new faces - they have many returning veterans, etc., but we should prevail. UCF will be a tough opponent, but we should prevail. URI - please! Notre Dame - we are capable of beating them in Chestnut Hill - even if they have momentum.

9 and 3 = great season
8 and 4 = very good season, considering.
7 and 5 = disappointing, but certainly possible, and understandably so.

In order to go 5 and 3 in the ACC, we have to win 2 out of 3 against the Coastal opponents GT, VT and @UNC.

Then we have to win 3 out of 4 against Clemson, @Florida State, @Wake Forest, Maryland. I think 3 out of 4 will put us back in the ACCCG (especially if we beat NC State in early October) - November has the potential to be unbelievably exciting - the entire season is exciting.

I never had this feeling in the Big East at all, but each and every one of these ACC games feels like a must win.

Let's hope the players can escape serious injuries this year. I don't care what anybody says - this is a tough schedule and we can be proud of our level of play.

Go BC!

I made a mistake above.

In order to go 5 and 3 in the ACC we could split the final 4, if we beat NC State. That would give us 3 and 2 in the Atlantic. We would still have to win 2 of 3 from the Coastal teams.

I'm not sure if 3 and 2/5 and 3 is good enough to reach the ACCCG, but 4 and 1/6 and 2 most likely will be. I don't think any Atlantic Team will go 5 and 0 in the Division.
