Yeah, that was a great throw from Dave. Credit where it's due. However, did you see how Larmond tried to catch that? With his elbows and his chest pads. Colin, you know those things at the ends of your arms? Yes, they're called hands! You catch with those, with your hands!
The play before the Larmond drop, there were two open receivers streaking across the middle. If that was Matt Ryan he would've hit both kinda like a double jump in checkers.

Oh, hell, BravesB--there's lots of teams with 9 or 10 wins that are worse than BC. Mod must know this...--Imagine Boise in Boston--they'd have hemmroids(sic) just trying to make anyone happy in Brighton and no one in BackBay would tolerate the Blue Gridiron. Tebow and Florida would be pissed off that some dudes in the pros in Boston were mo' loved than they, and the Texas kids couldn't graduate from ANYWHERE in MA....'n Half the Alabama team

So--We should all be damn glad we're in the Emerald Bowl representing the ACC and NOT the Big Least--Y'all haven't lived if you haven't bowl'd in San Francisco--I can't think of another town I'd rather party in, and this year, if our opponent is Stanford--we'll actually be able to hang with these folks without having to fake an accent, or sound like we knew Lou Holtz as children. It'll be fun and everybody you'll meet actually graduated from the university that they're rooting for...

An uninspiring victory...
But ending the year on a (sort of) high note is nice.
1.) 8 wins means we didn't need the two wins against the D1AA teams to become bowl eligible.
2.) Yes we've heard it all year long from the announcers, but we were supposed to end up last in the ACC. I give Spaz some credit.
Looking to next year... Shinskie showed some promise. He'll be better next year. Keuchley and Herzlich could make an insane defensive duo. I'm Keeping my fingers crossed for Herzy's strength.
Paulo, we only played one FCS team (Northeastern), which is not to excuse our non-conference schedule. Our NC opponents were not good.
NorCal -- thanks for the correction. I was laboring under the incorrect belief that Kent State was an FCS team. They might as well be.
I really do enjoy watching the Cynics vs. the Polyannas on this site. If I had to take sides I'd jump on board with the Cynics, but only because it's obvious that the Cynics criticize out of devotion to The Heights.
On a personal note, as a Bay Area resident, I hate knowing that BC will be playing just a few miles away on Dec. 26 when I'm back home on the East Coast. The last time we played in the Emerald Bowl I literally lived 4 blocks from Pac Bell park. I watched the game in Standard Definition from my parents' house in Maine. The agony.
