More honors and other links

Congratulations are in order for Anthony Castonzo and Luke Kuechly, as both were named first team All ACC. Boston College, North Carolina and Miami were the only schools with multiple first-team selections. Montel Harris and Matt Tennant are part of the second team. Honorable mention and freshman will be out later this week.

The ACC also named Kuechly the defensive back of the week for his play against Maryland.

HD placed BC 6th in her weekly power rankings.

Multiple sources are leaking this and I put it up on Twitter, but BC is going to the Emerald Bowl. Nothing has been officially announced yet since there are some contingencies for other bowls based on the results of the ACC Championship Game. However, we are not part of those contingencies and will be in the Bay Area the day after Christmas.

The HD rankings look right. We did not beat any team above us and we did not lose to any team below us.

No team above us has a worse overall record than BC and no team below us has a better overall record than BC.

Or, perhaps, we could say, we did not beat any team in the league with a winning record and did not lose to any team in the league that did not have a winning record!

hmmm....nice numbers, but not really what we want . . . no "break out" game where we defied expectations.

Next year, next year.....

1. Georgia Tech (10-2, 7-1 ACC)
2. Virginia Tech (9-3, 6-2)
3. Clemson (8-4, 6-2)
4. Miami (9-3, 5-3)
5. North Carolina (8-4, 4-4)
6. Boston College (8-4, 5-3)
7. Florida State (6-6, 4-4)
8. Wake Forest (5-7, 3-5)
9. Duke (5-7, 3-5)
10. NC State (5-7, 2-6)
11. Virginia (3-9, 2-6)
12. Maryland (2-10, 1-7)

Does anyone know where to find a replay of the Maryland game? My DVR only recorded 15 minutes, not on ESPN 360 and doesn't look like any of the ESPN networks are replaying?

It looks like a number of teams have multiple first teamers. GTech had 5 on offense alone.

Well deserved honor for Anthony and Luke. I'm surprised Gunnell didn't even make second team.

Watchin' the Pats and Saints:

There's nothing better than a football player - especially a hog - with his shirt hanging out (part of the style), wearing ballet-type, nylon see-through pants with dental floss up his giggy.

And how about those sorry excuses wearing short pants - SHORT PANTS!

These equipment suppliers are ruining college (and pro) football. Come on leagues - come on coaches and AD's - step up to the plate and enforce some standards. Either that or we're going to the lowest point we can get away with - really pathetic.

Wow, that is awesome news about Luke. He will be an All-American someday.

Weis is gone at ND. If they are smart, they will hire Brian Kelly. We only play them one more time, so I don't think I will have the passionate hatred for them after next season. Kelly will bring them to the promised land (just look at what he has done with Cincy!).
