The ACC might not sell the most tickets or travel well, but as a conference we drive ratings. Check out this article. It makes me think that even in a down economy the ACC has real bargaining power with the latest round of TV talks.
These are the reasons HD is excited about the new football season.
Brady Heslip will visit Oregon this weekend.
The Pac 10 and the Big XII are considering some sort of TV alliance that would pool their market power and potentially form a network. Where is the ACC when all of this is going on?
Donahue's staff has interest in prep schooler Aaron Cosby.
BC is hoping to hit the St. Xavier (Kentucky) pipeline again with Daylen Hall.
This is an interesting story regarding Mike McLaughlin's decision to sign with Baltimore. Although they didn't draft him, they recruited him hard. Let's hope it proves to be a good fit.

Anybody that saw Brady Heslip shoot the rock during warm-ups knows the kid is an absolute sniper. He'll have to prove he can knock down contested shots at the D1 level, but I wouldn't bet against him. Maybe he's not an ACC athlete or maybe he doesn't fit Donahue's scheme, but still think it would have been nice to have a kid that can shoot the long ball at a solid clip.
That sounds like what people were saying about Tyler Roche a few years ago.
While we're overanalyzing the video, ATL, don't overlook that indirect tip to the UnderArmour change with, "We must protect Alumni Stadium."
Yeah, bad sign re. Shinskie.
Maybe Marscovetra can be Crane-like as starting QB -i.e. not turn the ball over.
But what about all the occurrences of the number "10"in that video - even in roman numeral form? Makes me wonder about a certain athletic conference - wait, maybe I am reading too much into it.
Tyler Roche never played against top talent, while Brady made his name playing at the top tournaments.
Donahue made a costly mistake here, and is now recruiting UMass Talent. Does anyone here think he has 3-4 years to get us to 20 wins?
Were we in rebuilding mode?
I don't know if we were in rebuilding mode at the start of the '09 season, but we sure as hell were at the end. And that was before we jettisoned the coaching staff.
ATL, as to your reading of the "tea leaves" in the video to find that Shinskie may be on the outs, I must disagree.
You may be suffering from Apophenia
Let's hope the BC video makers have nothing to do with picking the starting QB.
I'm really excited to see McLaughlin in my home city with my team. I feel like he has a good shot, but that might be the psuedo-home in me.
Where can i find the BC football video? Its not on the ATLeagle link...
Ravenel is transferring
sought after recruit Ben Brust not coming to BC, going to Wisconsin
Kevin Noreen interviewing everywhere
who is going to be on the team next year -- 7 guys!! wow.. what's with Donahue...seems to lack the right touch with players
but BC does land 7 footer Clifford (2011) from Milton academy...beating out Siena, Northeastern, Princeton and other basketball light weights
hoops seems to be sinking fast...
Blist- I hope the "Crane" that you're referring to isn't Chris Crane. That guy was a turnover machine. I specifically remember him spotting VT two touchdowns thanks to two pick 6's he threw in that game. Turning the ball over has been our biggest issue since Matt Ryan was here, whether our quarterback was Crane, Davis, or Shinskie.
Jim - i hear you on the t-roche call, but don't remember tyler getting offered by oregon and also having seen heslip shoot, he is definitely a more pure shooter than roche...still not a proven D1 player, but think we may have let a good one slip out of our grasp.
Crane had some mobility and didn't seem afraid to tuck and run. Sure he tossed some INTs, but he rarely seemed as lost as Shinskie did last year. I'm one of those who felt if Crane was healthy the team would have been ACC champs, b/c he really showed good improvement week to week.
