Caudill commits to BC

Steve Donahue received a verbal commitment from California big man Kyle Caudill. Caudill gives BC some much needed bulk and rebounding. Most of the scouting reports claim that he lacks athleticism and upside, but there is no reason he cannot be a good cog in this system. Welcome aboard Kyle.

Sure is a big kid. Most sites report 6'11, weighing 260-279. After watching his videos, I believe 279 ... but also think Steve will trim him down to 260.

Sounds like he was tagged as a potential blue chip recruit at 14 years old, based just on rare size and strength. Had lots of early offers, and committed to Arizona State over USC as a soph, but de-committed heading into his junior season. Not sure if Ariz. State continued to recruit him, but he later earned offers from Oregon State, Northwestern, and the ivys. Sounds like he plateaued some.

Quite a few videos on him out there.

He looks aggressive and physical when fighting for position on the block for back-to-the-basket moves, and uses both hands well close in. Has Robert Parrish shooting form (i.e., ugly, holds it high and behind his head), but he's accurate from the elbows.

Can't tell much on defense (he just rules the middle), but doesn't always get good position on rebounds.

Would be curious to hear how he fared this summer.

Sign him up for Five-Star Post Development Camp. Get him a BIG man coach to work with. Its been a very long time since BC had a true BIG man.
