Crawley's extension and other links

BC added two more years to Sylvia Crawley's contract. My initial reaction was: "why?" Nothing against Crawley, but has she done anything yet to earn a new/longer deal? Was she going anywhere? Let's hope her strong recruiting translates to more wins.

After a year covering the BC hockey team, BC alum Tom Grace is going back to Pittsburgh to be the voice of the Penguins again. You have to admire a guy who follows his dream.

Former Eagle Mark Nori is getting his first head coaching job at a high school in Ohio.

The notes section of this article mentions Chase Hounshell interest in BC.

Baseball assistant Steve Englert is staying on at BC under his former colleague Mike Gambino.

Crawley has got the women's hoops program headed in the right direction. She is a very impressive person and speaker. I saw her speak at a function and was quite impressed. Glad to see BC is showing some commitment to Crawley. But to your point ATL, a 2 year extension obviously is not an unqualified commitment and should incentivise Crawley to get more wins and into NCAA tourney but also give the program stability to enhace rcruiting efforts.

I'll tell you what, I really hope our football team is working hard today trying to get better and trying to be ready for Sept 4. However, if they are, they're better men than I am. It is disgusting outside. So humid, so hot. You couldn't pay me to work out.

It's actually the Wilkes-Barre Penguins, not Pittsburgh. Glad to see he was able to enjoy the BC championship season during his one year stint!

I worked with Tom Grace for a couple years at a place called Cramer in Norwood. I will say this, there is no bigger or better BC Guy then him! He's a calss act and bleeds Maroon and Gold. GOOD LUCK TOM!!!

Who the heck is this DT featured today by HD on the ESPN blog?...

DT Kasim Edebali: The native of Hamburg, Germany, redshirted last year, and came to Chestnut Hill after two years at Kimball Union Academy as part of the USA Football International Student Program. He played club football in Germany, and was a tight end for the German U-19 National Team at the 2006 European Championship.

Coach Crawley is a solid coach. Tough, but fair, she is exactly what the program needs. I'd expect her ability to both discipline and inspire her players will translate into more wins down the line.

Good move.
