It is only our first game in February, but this matchup with North Carolina is critical for the rest of the season. BC is in the midst of a tough stretch and needs to show strength at home. Let's hope the late tip time and the cold weather give us a little home court advantage. This Carolina site put together
a good preview of our team.
Kenpom predicts a close loss. The challenge with UNC is their defense. They are a lot like FSU in that they can guard us on the perimeter and block shots inside. To win we need guys penetrating and finding open mid-range shots.
2012 QB target Casey Cochran is really talking up Northwestern.
The Globe is keeping tabs on future Eagle Dennis Clifford.
BC hoops recruit Kyle Caudill has plantar fasciitis. It is one of those nagging injuries that will hopefully go away with rest. You never like to see a big man with foot problems so let's hope his case is minor.
HD listed Jim Noel as one of her most improved players.
The BC women lost on the road to a bad Wake Forest team.

Unfortunately, the opposite will be true. We are expected to get pounded with snow today, tonight, and tomorrow. Look for a ton of empty seats at Conte tonight. People are dumping tickets left and right on the bceagles.com Marketplace.
See, 10-15 years ago the opposite would have been true, even with a crappy BC team... tickets would be dumped, but students will be more likely to attend because of the difficulty getting off campus.
But that was back before Survivor, American Idol, and all that stuff on the MTZ those kids are watching...
Standing Room Only inside O'Neill library tonight! Come early, stay late. I feel bad for those who will have to walk back to their dorms and study in their rooms because there are no desks available.
Traffic on campus feels light. Lots of Carolina Blue on the fans entering Conte's apparel.
Bad sign.
For some reason, I can't get ESPN3 to work. My cable company carries it. Any ideas?
Switched over to Firefox and now it works. Man does Microsoft and Internet Explorer suck or what? I'm hoping the homestate kid Harrison Barnes has a rough night.
UNC is taking our home court advantage and stuffing it...Reggie has lost his drive, and they just out big us--what a mess. Josh looks like Lurch playing in slo mo against Cirque de Soleil. Bummer. They're shooting threes on us and we're passing it around at our end until the clock runs out or we turn it over. We need a big dude with moves and bad intentions.
It's 49-35 Heels at the half. The baby blues look like they're having fun playing our tiny people. Somebody in maroon and gold needs to start getting physical with the Heels. They push us around at home like this for much longer and it's going to be an embarrassment. Frankly, we look like we always do when we lose: Weak and bewildered. Reggie needs to constantly drive the lane and get fouled by the big heels. Where's our muscle? C'mon Eagles--get tough!
This blow out thing is getting old. Someone needs to tell the team that crappy D only works if they play efficient offense
BC needs a ten point burst here soon . . .
this game makes me yearn for the days of the flex offense. It has been absolutely brutal to watch. UNC is good...but this is not exactly Phi Slamma Jamma...our defense is atrocious.
Defense is bad, yes, but Jackson hasn't done anything, with or without the ball. If he's given up, get him off the court for good.
jackson can only do so much. teams have been keying on him the past three games and he has not been able to get his shots. maybe he did give up, but he's not giving up at the start. there is no legit scheme for him to get the ball in good position to score, he has to create his own shot 9 times out of 10. hard not to get frustrated if that is the case.
This was abysmal...It's like all the chemistry is gone. That sound we just heard when the Tarheels put up 100 points in Conte was more than the the air goin' out of the proverbial ball. A hometown beat down is bad news enough, but this was entirely something else...
