Hockey East regular season champions

BC scored late in the third to beat UNH 4-3 Saturday night. The win did two things. First it gave BC yet another regular season title (the school's 11th). Secondly, it also gave BC the No. 1 seed in the Hockey East Tournament. BC will take on UMass next weekend in the opening round of the HE Tourney.

What's interesting is that even with all the success he has had, Jerry York still knows how to push buttons. He invited Bill Belichick to practice on Tuesday to speak to the team about being champions. The Patriots coach admitted to not knowing much about hockey but clearly made an impact on the team.

I don't think BC will need any pep talk preparing for UMass. The Eagles don't need to win the Hockey East Tournament for an NCAA bid, but it could be a great springboard to another Frozen Four run.

The greatest active coach in college hockey inviting the greatest active coach in pro football...

We need a Jerry for our football team too. Unfortunately we are stuck with a Spaz

I wish York had addressed the Pats before that awful playoff loss!

Congrats to the hockey team. Great way to finish the year. I was there Friday and I believe I was sitting in front of Kreider's grandmother (or at least some elder lady with a Kredier jersey). I definitely felt bad then and hope he was spring back for the NCAA run. I also got shocked no less than 75 times with those d@mn red Conte seats and their static energy.

A reason Belichick would be an (especially) effective speaker to the Eagles is that all 3 seniors are from Mass, and 9 underclassmen are from Mass.

Good luck to the basketball team today. Don't take WFU likely. I don't think I can make it up to Conte but I hope our crowd is respectable.

Women's team just won the Hockey East tournament. They will now move on to the NCAA's. Well done, ladies.

The women's NCAA hockey tournament field was just announced. There are only 8 teams, and BC is the #4 seed. They'll host Minnesota at Conte this Saturday March 12. This is a great opportunity to see an NCAA tournament game on campus. Go Eagles!

The most ridiculous thing is how often Jerry York has NOT been voted Coach of the Year in Hockey East. Despite 7 Hockey East tournament titles, 3 regular season titles, 3 National titles, and 9 Frozen Four appearances, he has been voted Coach of the Year for Hockey East 1 time!

Granted it was a year we won the regular season, but nothing else, so maybe that is the high mark for the award. Here's to keeping our fingers crossed for a well deserved award!
