Meter and Pete Cronin have to be careful of what they say about BC and Spaz. They work for IMG Radio, but it is with BC's endorsement. However, WEEI (the station that carries the BC games in Boston) doesn't have to censor themselves as much. Yesterday after our broadcast wrapped up, Pete Sheppard did his usual college football postgame show and started it off with a rant on Spaz. He pulled no punches and called Spaz an embarrassment I am not a Sheppard fan, but he's pretty on target with critique of Spaz and the position coaches.
The good news is that someone in Boston is paying attention.
(Thanks to Jane for the tip.)

Great BC talk this morning on the sportshub, and they were killing Spaz. They said that they love BC, but, as BC doesn't move the dial like the Sox and Pats, they aren't encouraged to talk BC, but they felt they had to make a point this morning. So, the morning of a Brady/Manning game, they spend 30 minutes ripping spaz and gene. You know its bad when Boston stations take Pats game day time to rip BC.
CatabEagle,
Wish I heard that one.
Sheppard has been a BC advocate for years. I spoke with him on the air when BC hired Jags telling him I thought the hire was made in apart because he had ties to Wisconsin like Father Leahy. Sheppard was clear that he wanted Whipple.
WEEI took Sheppard off the air for a while. Good that he is back.
Just watched Drew Brees break Johhny Unitas' touchdown record.
On the sideline after the play Brees told Saints OC Pete Carmicheal "Good Call," in reference to the play call on the TD.
It WOULD be nice to see Carmichael coach the Eagles next season.
Figuring out Army's defense can't be half as complicated as decoding the letters and numbers needed to post on this blog.
What the hell did they do all week in practice, prepare for the potent Army passing attack they saw in the Stoneybrook film?
My embarrassment with my alma mater at this point is only surpassed by my apathy. Congrats Gene and Spaz for fully alienating the few die-hards that BC actually had.
I am still a die hard.
A couple tough years are no problem.
Changes are being made at the top and ANYONE with head coaching experience will be better than what we have now.
there are real poblems with the D Line on this team. Never any pressure in the backfield and they never and I mean never in on any stops. Painful to watch teams run up and down the field unencumbered. By the way this is the reason our LB's have so many tackles. they are the first line of resistance encountered.
"Is Paris burning?"
Has Spaziani been fired?

if you want commenters, you're going to have to do something about your "no robots" system. It is impossible to read what we're supposed to retype.
Just curious....what do people think is the percentage chance of Spaz actually being on the sideline down in Tallahassee next weekend? If he makes it out of this week, what are the chances he doesn't get fired immediately following the season?
I've adjusted the comments word verification. If we get a lot of spam I will turn it back on.
How many points do you think a pissed off FSU is going to put up against BC? 70? 80?
I don't know if they'll reach 100, but I am pretty doubtful they'll have to punt more than one or twice. I have seen nothing from either team to suggest BC can stop FSU, ever. The Noles ought to score every time they have the ball. Maybe we can goad them into 40 or 50 offensive penalties. At least then we'd get to see some fight from the defense.
I too am glad to see the uptick in local attention to BC's woes and the long-overdue proper identification of the problem. Great rant.
I have hope that a recovery will be underway soon, with a coaching change made, and BC will have my enthusiastic support again then. But until it happens, I am another of those in the ranks of the newly apathetic. I just can't get even any masochistic pleasure from backing this program currently.
