BC gets past BU in Beanpot Opener

Remember when BU used to dominate the Beanpot? It is getting hard because on Monday BC knocked the Terriers out of the tournament in a 3-1 victory. The final goal was an empty netter that wrapped up the win. BC will go for its fifth straight Beanpot title next Monday against Northeastern. The Huskies crushed Harvard 6-0.

Like so much of our hockey success, I think Beanpot success is becoming so commonplace that we risk taking it for granted. But watching Jack Parker between periods on NESN was a reminder that these runs cannot go on forever. We should cherish this time and relish that we have one of the classiest men in sports leading this program.

Was at the game last night -- standard back and forth cheers/jeers between BU and BC student sections until BU came out with a "BC Basketball" cheer. BC had no response -- that was depressing. Other than that though BC students had much better turnout, were louder, etc.

Hilarious! Sounds like BU students had the knockout blow. At least we won the game.

The BC basketball chant was unveiled by BU fans at Conte a couple of weeks ago, pretty funny

This could be our year to win the Frozen Four again. Minnesota will be tough to beat however.

Let's win the Beanpot first. Northeastern's no pushover. They're nationally ranked and they deserve it, and they're hungry for a Beanpot. Monday's gonna be a very tough game.

BC looked so awesome and effortlessly dominant for parts of that game, and then they went to sleep for five minutes and let BU not only kill but almost score twice while shorthanded during that 5-minute major. That was brutal. They're so damned talented and deep that they got cocky and cute and forgot to shoot the puck. Other than that, it was a great Beanpot game.

I agree with Cuda, NE is going to be very tough in the final. Great kick-off of trophy season!
