Peter Frates' story on ESPN
ESPN finally told the story of Peter Frates -- the guy who made the Ice Bucket Challenge go viral. It was produced by my friend and BC grad Drew Gallagher. Watch it and remember that this is what the Challenge is all about.
I bawled my eyes out. What an amazing story. I thought the Herzlich story was made for Hollywood. Then, I was sure the Welles Crowther Red Bandana story would be made a major motion picture. But, this Pete Frates story is entering Remember the Titans territory. How proud I am of all these BC alums. They truly exemplify Ever to Excel.
By the way, I have not done the challenge but I donated $100 to ALS Therapy Development Institute. www.als.net. The money needs to go to the passionate scientists to find a cure for this dreadful disease. It's a great story, but it would be a monumental story if the awareness can lead to a cure.
Count your blessings one by one, When dawn appears and day has just begun. They will light your heart with happiness, Make each hour bright and bring you gladness.
Count your blessings one by one, When twilight falls and toil of day is done, And in sweet dreams they'll come again to you, If you will count your blessings each day through.
Count your blessings while you may. For we are here but little time to stay. All around are friends, sincere and true. Lovely things abound, just waiting for you.
Count your blessings while you may, The big or small, whichever comes your way, For then you'll find this world a place of love If you will count your blessings from above.

Just amazing. And they don't come any better than Pete's wife.
I agree with the above comments.
It is an very well done video, and so, so sad.
Frates can no longer speak (yet his mind is fully functioning).
His last spoken words occurred this May while looking at a sonagram of his unborn child. Frates was so happy to be having a child.
His wife is also a BC graduate, and so, so young to be dealing with this. Just 23.
Whew - Pete and his family have been handed a real s@$t deal.
You are in my prayers, Pete. And so is your entire family.
To All for Pete
