Getting to know Ethan Tucky

Expectations are pretty high for Ethan Tucky. The new LB was a key part of the recruiting class and then when Jim Reid came onboard, he raved about him and explained how badly he wanted Tucky at Iowa. If you're looking for signs that he will contribute early, take this interview as an example. BC would probably not have him sit down for the Q&A if they didn't think he was going to play this season.

The interview doesn't contain anything groundbreaking or dramatic, but does give some insight into Tucky's personality. It seems like he has a good head on his shoulders and a good model for getting better. Beyond the physical, Tucky also explains the learning curve of college football and the staff's preparation.

There's plenty of comparisons to Milano and Kuechly. That's a high ceiling, but if he really is in that league, BC can have a dominant defense for years to come.

a 4-star recruit from Ohio with offers from Wisconsin and basically the rest of the Big Ten committed to BC? i thought Daz couldn't recruit?

I hope Tucky is the next great BC LB. seems to have big upside.

But. Not a 4* recruit on rivals or 247. Was a 3*

Tucky, is one guy. Daz needed a solid 2016 class. Didn't happen.

He didn't have a good 2016 recruiting class

BC was #82 nationally (horrible) and last in ACC.

So you were saying Daz can recruit?

Miz, mod just nailed you with a dose of reality.

Strahan, Landry and Tucky. Sounds promising.

No depth. All the national sports world ranks BCs recruiting class at the bottom of the barrel. Some folks on this blog are in denial. I hope the two star recruits overachieve. Otherwise be happy when Daz runs up the score on Wagner.

My observation is BC has depth at multiple positions, the Linebacker group is a good example. There are young (sophomore, redshirt freshman, and current freshman) along with Junior's pushing each other on a daily basis. The success on the field this year will greatly contribute to generate improved recruiting classes. GO EAGLES

Bcbcbc. I thought we got you out of the teenage years last week? Gonna take some more work to scrub the dual forces of Dick-head and Pollyanna out of you.

Dodger,
I don't share your rosy optimism concerning depth. Having "bodies" is not depth. Having said that I hope your vision of success is correct. I WANT to be wrong.

Another reason for my optimism is the new coaching staff additions, they are remarkable teachers. Go Eagles

Do you guys even know anything about BC football? Be will rarely ever get the top recruits the other schools are getting. It's not an excuse it's the TRUTH. We can't offer what the bigger schools can and we never will. That's the sad reality of BC sports. BC is only good at football when our low star recruits overachieve and grasp what the coaches are teaching.
