Where should BC play next?

With Cal and Hawaii playing in Australia and BC getting ready for Ireland, I started to wonder about future BC road trips. If money is right, there is no reason why BC shouldn't consider future football games abroad. It raises the profile of the school, it generates some fan excitement, it gets a good TV slot and most importantly you can sell it to recruits.

I have mentioned Liverpool before. Given Fenway Sports Groups relationship with Liverpool and Anfield, BC could easily set up a game. I am sure ESPN would throw some extra money at us. The downside is that it might not have the same appeal to fans or other potential opponents.

Sydney, Australia seems like an interesting choice. If this Cal-Hawaii game proves successful, there will be more trips down under. It is a long way from Boston, but it might make for an interesting locale.

Toronto held bowl games, but no one really attempted anything in Montreal. I think it could be interesting, plus it is not that far from Boston. Our fans could make the trip.

There are still many American expats in Germany. There used to getting NFL games. Maybe a college game could draw well.

BC played in Tokyo once before. Why not go back? Like Australia, it would involve a long trip.

They should play on the moon

Cape Town, South Africa!!

They already love rugby, they speak English, there's a ton to do and it's very reasonable, plus the stadium offers stunning views of Table Mountain.

Atlanta, Georgia. Plenty of crime, no parking, mediocre restaurants and nothing to do.

Nassau, Bahamas!!

They have a stadium and it is used for US football. In fact, ESPN already owns the Popeye Chicken Bowl that is played in Nassau Bahamas near Christmas every year.

i think an OOC game in the Bahamas over Columbus Day weekend or Veterans day weekend would work.

Buzzards Bay.

Honey Pot Hill or Russell Orchards. Probably tons of BC Alumni would show up there on a Fall Saturday for their apple picking fix anyway. Imagine their surprise when they pull into the parking lot to see their alma mater playing football!

Is 12:30 Irish time considered a good time slot? That is 4:00 in the morning for west coast fans. Cal Hawaii is at 7:00 PM West Coast time. What am I not getting?

S.I. They owe Wagner a trip down to my hometown. They'll play before a capacity crowd of about 5k!

Let's get some chatter going about ACC Game #1 in Dublin. As usual, very little to nothing in the Boston Papers. Nice going, Athletic Dept. and Fenway Sports Group.

How about anywhere on New Year's Day? Game on moon may be more likely.

Incidentally saw on facebook a BC friend who lives in Sydney now was at that game!

London would be a nice trip and I like the idea of Cape Town. Montreal would be a lot of fun as would Nassau.

Imagine if BC became the first school to play a game in Havana!

Cuba is fucking ridiculous. Communist scumbags.

Puerto Rico would make the most sense. They have Jesuit high schools, quick trip in and out from East coast USA and rates are moderate there because of their financial issues.
