Addazio riding recruiting momentum

It has been a busy few days for Steve Addazio and his staff. On Friday they picked up a verbal commitment from Indiana LB Hugo Davis. The services have Davis as a three star player. BC is one of his better offers but this guy seems like a good fit on and off the field. Saturday brought more good news. New Jersey LB Vinny DePalma committed. He's got offers from Duke, Pitt and Wisconsin and is the type of player we should get. The other thing I like about DePalma is seeing it as a sign of our New Jersey strength.

ATL's propaganda pieces are starting to make Maxine Waters look unbiased in comparison.
New motto:
Ever to shoot for .500 record.

ATL consistently paints a rosy, overly optimistic picture. Not hard to imagine him on the AD payroll.

The season has yet to start why be so pessimistic out of the gate. Clearly BC has a ways to go to be more competitive but getting to a winning record for the second year in a row is progress and can create some momentum. A winning attitude may not trump talent but it certainly helps.

The new LB's are legit. Nasty. The QB from the Bronx has potential if he has a pocket.

Would like to see a few more Don Brown type DB recruits. The o-line is not looking very good. Will continue to be a concern until Justin Frye is reassigned.

I feel like I'm on a college campus where only liberal speech is permitted. Everything else is shouted down.

Mod, come back and help me deal with these brown-nosing cupcakes.

Still pretty down on Daz, but I will absolutely admit this is likely shaping up to be his best recruiting class. Don't know if it will be enough, but we can at least acknowledge something that isn't absurdly negative all the time. We are 30th on Rivals right now. That probably won't last because we have a few more recruits than a lot of places, but it's the best we've seen since his first full class with Landry.

Agree with Rich. Down but not completely out.

Mod and GE are the same person. Only explanation for wanting to hear fire daz yet again.
Like BcBc might be Knuckle's unmedicated other half.

Good gets for a program 40 points behind the elites.

It all depends on what the meaning of "is" is. All the recruits will be redshirted and have no influence on the coming season. I believe that the record will be 4-8. Then, we will see how he is evaluated by the new A.D. The Dazzler believes that he has an in through both having connections to Urban Meyer. There is a good chance that the A.D. will let him slide because of the good recruiting and an optimistic future. It will be interesting.

Acute paranoid conspiracy theories. I love it. CT, you are a hopeless goofball.

WE MUST ASK OURSELVES HOW LONG WOULD A LOSER LIKE SPAZDAZIO WOULD LAST WITH THE FAUX IRISH(ND)? LOSER QBS , KICKERS WHO CANT KICK , WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR.
MORE STOMPINGS LIKE 54-0 ETC. DOUG FLUTIE AND MATT RYAN WERE GREAT QBS THEY WERE
THE SUMMIT OF A SERIES OF VERY GOOD QBS 1982-2008. JACK BICKNELL , TOM CUGHLIN ,
TOM O 'BRIEN , JEFF JAGS MADE BC EXCITING AND OFTEN WON BIG GAMES EVEN IN HOSTILE
VENUES.
WHAT HAS THIS LOSER DONE TO MERIT EVEN 5 MORE MINUTES OF RUNNING BC INTO DISASTER.
SPAZDAZIO MUST GO SToP THE BILGE IN HIS SUPPORT. DO YOU SUFFER FROM AMNESIA.
LET US MAKE EVER TO EXCEL MEAN WHAT IT SAYS !!!!!!!!

More likely Dickhead, aka Knucklehead is on Revere Beach at Kellys Roast Beef asking other homeless bums if they can spare a few French fries.

The only stat that matters is W and L. and a step further if all your wins are against 2nd and 3rd tie teams... what is the point? Take your participation ribbon and go home to Mommy. Get the f out of my alma mater.

Adagio will be fired by mid October. He is a used carcsalesman posing as a coach. No brains. No balls and a serious inferiority complex.

I miss 1983-1986 when BC paleyedcagainst the best in the country and won.

Thank you, Max. Someone else who tells it like it is.

"The above notwithstanding", these look like pretty decent kids. Like the schools - especially Cathedral in Indy. I think that's where Trueblood and Kiwi went to high school. I agree - would like to see more OL. The Dirstine kid from Lawrence Academy was a good pick up - but I'm a little concerned about too many kids from these small affluent private schools that play against the same level of competition. We have several kids from Lawrence this year - will be interesting to see how they perform over time.

Not an Addazzio fan. But what I cant understand is the lack of intense displeasure in the basketball program. I keep seeing on this site and bci we are one or two players away. My god what are uou people talking about. Football has basically been to the NIT 3 out of 4 years. They have beaten ooc foes no matter how bad (something bball can't say). The ire is focused on the wrong sport and coach

Max said...

Basteball has not been relevant since Gary Williams and first half of Skinner tenure. VC will not recruit and will not compromise "standards" to get talent. Who cares if theyvtake 5 years to graduate.

Providence College.

Basketball with Skinner was consistently good from beginning to end.

Napolean Bonaparte said...

canttakeit - the intense displeasure with basketball turned long ago into something more like nobody gives a shit anymore. Not sure if it was after Nichols State or Hartford. You can only beat a dead horse so often. Its pretty clear what they need to do. Football, I guess, is a bit more complex.
