BC offers camp standout

All coaches stress the importance of summer camps. It allows the player and the coaching staff to get to know each other quickly and under college-like conditions. At BC -- where we are often recruiting late bloomers or kids from less competitive areas -- camps offer an up close opportunity to see if the kid can play. After BC's latest camp, it is clear they think Pennsylvania athlete Aaron Gethers can play.

Gethers impressed most with his speed and claimed BC offered him right after his 40 time. The good news is that BC was his first major offer. The bad news is that it will bring Gethers to the attention of others. Let's hope being first and establishing a relationship with him makes the difference.

Remember when BC opened the baseball season at home and were swept by Bethune-Cookman? Well, Bethune-Cookman is in the Gainesville regional final against Florida. They will play today and both have one loss.
