Bowman goes off in BC win

BC bounced back after last week's disaster, with a win over Wyoming. BC will now face Loyola in the tourney finals. But none of it was easy. Bowman blew the game open in the first half and then had to take over again as BC let the Cowboys back in the game. Bowman finished with 38.

Reyes also had a career day since he was our only healthy big. But even he fouled out. Mitchell was okay, but the rest of the roster was wanting. Chatman was ice cold. The young guys made lots of mistakes and forced lots of bad shots.

Bowman is not going to be able to score 38 a night. Other guys need to step up, starting Wednesday.

This team is just dreadful

Loyola was the "darling of the tournament" last year. BC needs to take some notes and maybe borrow the "nun in the wheel chair".

watched the game and am still not impressed. the bigs are just not up to ACC caliber. Did not see any freshman that made me feel they would contribute much this year especially Baker who needs a major weight hike. if Loyola plays anywhere like last year's team BC will be in for a long night.Did not mind popovic not playing he is very underwhelming under the boards with limited offensive skills.

And no good hockey to fall back on. Fore the entire athletic department and start over.

In all seriousness, like many BC fans I dream of Jared Dudley being our Head Coach. Yes, without an apprenticeship as an assistant. His strengths in intelligence, communication, and working with young players outweigh the lack of "experience". Dudley in particular would understand the need to get high-quality assistants as he wouldn't have much time to build his sets and his recruiting plan.

Now I don't think he'll do it. I don't think he's ready to retire from the NBA as a player, and I think he's built to be a NBA head coach. Working in the NBA as an assistant or in the front office would be a more likely path.

Nevertheless, I'd love it if the AD put out feelers. He's in the last year of his 3-year contract, making $9.5 million in this his this season. We could give him a guaranteed head coaching contract for say 4-5 years, rather than the year-to-year contract he's looking at now. He'd surely make more cash as BC's head coach than as a NBA assistant, with significantly less travel (even factoring recruiting in).

Speaking (seriously) of helping teach the young guys:

What a remarkable sequence.

Basketball team is an absolute joke. No way they’re winning anything.

Christian needs to be fired before we can address the Addazio debacle.

Chatman had a fine game. He seems to be a very streaky shooter. Brutal against Wyoming but darned good against Loyola. Bowman certainly needs some help.

Heights, Christian needs to be fired before we can address the Addazio debacle? Seriously? I can't imagine us firing the coach during the season. Any decision on Christian would be months after any decision on Addazio. If we get blown out by Syracuse on Saturday, I could imagine his getting the gate and someone else coaching the team for the forgettable bowl game we'll be in. We shall see. It's hard to make the case that Christian is the long-term solution here to put it mildly.
